Double carpal tunnel
I needed carpal tunnel on both wrists, Dr Gesensway obliged my request. (He did say I could change my mind.) I said no, both! He was quick, efficient and with a sense of humor took care of the carpal tunnel for me! Highly recommend him to anyone.

Wonderful knowledgeable doctor. Radiology staff was great as well. Only criticism is it would better if he could send me with some documents of his diagnosis so I could review at home. The appt goes fast!

Watch out for this guy. If he is assigned to be your Doctor, tell them you want another one. He's a despicable person and treats people with zero respect.

Worst visit ever. Left in more pain than before I went in. Offered no solution just created more pain. Was supposed to be a surgery consult.

I had two surgeries performed by Dr. Gesensway on March 18: carpal tunnel of the left wrist and cubital tunnel of left elbow. Both done under local anesthesia. I was awake and could converse with him during the procedure. I found him to be highly competent, easy to talk with and enjoyed his sense of humor. My surgeries went well and I am healing as expected. He was clear about my condition and whether the surgeries would solve the problem of hand numbness.

I selected Dr Gesensway for my Trigger Finger and Carpal Tunnel surgeries 02/05/20 because of his good online ratings and the good things that other people wrote about him. I found those ratings and comments to be true. He is very articulate and openly shares his knowledge. He readily explains what’s wrong and how he’s going to fix it. The outcome of the surgeries was exactly what he said they would be. His bedside manner is the best I’ve seen (and I’ve had 19 surgical procedures). He cares about his patients and it shows in how he treats them. I rate him a 5 out of 5 and would strongly recommend him.

Dr. Gensenway's is unorthodox... he shoved a pen in between my finger that wasn't sterile during my surgery.. and the table where I had my check up after was filthy and I had to sit on that.. then I almost passed out so I had to lay on that table as he shook me like a rack of lamb.. he basically told me to toughen up and how do I expect to have kids... now I'm pretty relaxed person soo.. the flipping me off was funny to represent how my finger was supposed to move. I much rather prefer a fun doctor rather than one who is all to serious.. however, I am deathly afraid of surgery and doctors.. obviously he is not the guy you want to come visit if you dont have a sense of humor.. strongly suggest not going to him because he might offend you.. he's just trying to lighten the mood but obviously he's a surgeon and this is his daily job so he makes light of it anyway possible. Overall , they fixed my finger and it works!

What an arrogant and unprofessional doctor! Came to exam room over an hour past my appointment time. Before he even came into the room I heard him and his whole team talking about my case and they were two rooms from the lobby so anyone still sitting in the lobby when I left heard everything and could identify me. He was running behind (common for this clinic) and tried to make up time with me. At one point he looks at a healing wound on my hand (sustained playing with my dog) and tells me it looks like cancer. I’ve had skin cancer before but had I not, I would have been terrified. Totally minimized my issue and basically told me there was nothing wrong. Got news for him-still struggling with the same problem. At the end of the visit he finally said he better look at the second X-ray view and he had the nerve to tell me I “failed” the X-ray because the view was bad. Never, never, NEVER see this guy.

Distal Bicep Rupture, seen Dr. Gesensway at Plymouth TCO. This is a complete tendon removal, rip or tare from radius bone just passed elbow rendering bicep not connected to forearm. Rolled up bicep in upper arm. He explained everything in detail. Used examples to show what has happened and what can be done. Gave me a complete detailed options for my condition without favor on either side. Answered all my questions and took time to make sure I understood. Followup was as expected. Professional and exacting. This Doctor knows what he is doing. Injury July 13th 2019 Saw Dr. Gesensway TCO Surgery on July 25th 2019 Post follow up Aug 6th 2019

Outstanding doctor and staff to work with. Always most helpful in any way they can be. Usually not a fan of going to the doctor but this experience has been superb. And besides that, he's got quite a sense of humor that makes it all the more enjoyable and relaxing.

Dr. Gesensway recently worked on my 88 year old mother who had broken her wrist. She is in memory care at a local Plymouth assisted living center and Dr. Gesensway does the medical consulting well but was very interactive with my mother to make sure she was comfortable in her surroundings at the clinic. I recommend this doctor for your hand/wrist concerns.

I didn't think anything could be done about my crippled hands but a joint replacement on my right ring finger made a big difference! I am pleased with the result and grateful for Dr. Gesensway's expertise. I was treated very well....by Dr. G., Laurie, everyone who assisted during surgery, and during all appointments, and front desk assistance (checking in, making appointments, etc.). Thanks, everyone! Dr Gesensway is in the wrong profession, He maybe should have become a comedian since he thought the the serious and permanent injuries I have are so funny to him. Dr Gesensway would not be able to do his job as a physician with my hand/wrist. That would be his livelihood! I will not return. I prefer my physicians to have some sense of professionalism and empathy, at least while they are face to face with a paying patient.
