I have no problem with David Hauge. He IS a great surgeon. Sadly, to engage him, you have to engage with his office staff. In my experience of implementing Electronic Health Records for years all over the country, my advice is to try another office other than Park West so you can avoid the belittlement and frustration you will experience.. You go through the submarine that begins with a referral and an MRI. Fine. Good plan. Post surgery, if you need to talk to his PA or Nurse practitioner POST surgery, You have to make sure you DO so before 90 days are up or April will force you to start all over. She is rude and has no people skills. If you ask for a specific staff member with a question, Lorie won't even take a message. They will leave you on hold hoping you will just go away. I went there in 2014 to see Eugenio Vargas and the staff was complaining so much to each other, I just left. No matter what provider you engage, the patient experience should be the BEST it can be.

Had a 3 level neck fusion. Hardly saw the doctor at all. Was very disappointed when PA, I had never met, came to hospital room and not the doctor. I had so many issues afterwards and Teri ke follow up with nursing staff.

I have seen this doctor a couple of times. The first time he rushed me through. The second and third time, I was passed off to his PA with no notice. More importantly, many of the staff at Neurosurgical Associates is rude and condescending. Who needs that kind of treatment, especially when you're already in pain. Sheesh. Sonya-- you should be ashamed of yourself.

My father went here after being referred from another doctor. My father is a very healthy person and has been in extreme head pain for a couple weeks. He was told it could be a neck issue let’s do a mri. He was sent home still in extreme pain. A week went by the nurse still had not called for his mri so my father for the 3rd time went to the ER because the pain was so bad. The mri was finally done there. Then DR nurse would not get my father in for a appointment to discuss results and a plan for him. Instead my father was told on the phone your disks in your neck are bad and to go do PT. My father is not even functioning so how can he do PT. The nurse was horrible on the phone. My mother was so upset and frustrated saying my husband can’t live like this and he needs help. The nurse DID NOT CARE!! They wouldn’t even get my father into the doctor again they told him he had to see a nurse practitioner.. UNBELIEVABLE!!! The staff was awful and DR did NOT CARE!!

Dr. Hauge in my opinion is the best neurosurgeon in east Tennessee and maybe the world. He helped me 19 years ago with a bursted disc I was in absolute pain couldnt even hardly walk. He did surgery and got me back on feet. Now 19 years later I messed my back up again went to Dr. Hauge he preformed another surgery and all is well again. I have had a great experience with Dr. Hauge and his entire staff from the nice ladies at the front desk. And his NP Mr. Blanton and some real nice lady I have talked to on the phone named April. They are all GREAT. If you have back or neck problems I urge you to go and see DR. David Hauge !!! May GOD bless each and every one of them.

One of the nerves on the bottom left side of my jaw kept me in terrible pain. I tried everything, pills acupuncture etc. After dealing with it for several years i had gamma knife surgery with Dr. Haughe . After the surgery i was taking pills for a while because it takes time after the nerve is zapped. Sure enough after about 2 months the pain left completely and i stopped taking CARBAMAZEPHINE that he told me to take for a while. The surgery did not leave me with any jaw numbness. fantastic

I wish I could share the same glowing comments that other have left. I recently had surgery which did not go well. 4 days later I was back in the OR I believe because of a failure in the first surgery. If it had been done correctly the first time the second surgery would have been unnecessary. It takes FOREVER to get a call back from Dr Hauge’s nurse. The second procedure was successful and I am satisfied with the results.

I have only hugest praise for Dr. Hauge, his medical staff, and his office staff. I am always treated with respect and friendliness. The office physical plant is clean and orderly. While I have had to wait, the wait times have not been excessive. I have already and will continue to recommend Dr. Hauge.

Dr. Hauge explains everything from start to finish and is a perfect gentleman. I am so glad i went to Dr. Hauge for my Neck surgery, the staff and all nursing personal were courteous and friendly during my one night stay. I am still in pain but the pain i feel now is from the surgery and will subside in time. The pain i was dealing with before is GONE, still a little numbness in my fingers but that will take time. Overall a great experience.

Dr Hauge did back surgery on me in 2009. I think he is probably the best surgeon I've ever known. Before I went to him I was unable to get out of bed I had to use a walker to get around. A day after surgery I was able to get out of bed and walk up right. Thank you Dr. David Hauge John T. Baker

So very disappointed in this office. Been in medicine for over 20 yrs and have never had to use a worker comp case in my whole lifetime of working until recently. Have been seen once and cannot get back in to be seen. Front office ladies are very rude on the phone. Am I being treated like trash because its Worker's comp? Sad, just very sad.
