Honest, Excellent Surgeon
I had a nightmarish prostate infection with an antibiotic resistant antigen. The nightmare lasted almost 4 years as I went from one urologist to another looking for a cure, but every time, the infection would return. It came to the point where the only way to eradicate the infection was to enucleate the prostate via a non-radical prostatectomy. I asked other urologists and surgeons who they would choose for the procedure for themselves, and one of the names that came up more than once was Dr. Josephson. My first appointment was refreshing. He pulled no punches in telling me I was a very complicated and difficult case (something the other urologists seem to not want to talk about). By this time, I had done my research and had a pretty good idea of what needed to be done, and he confirmed it.This procedure was more difficult to recover from than my previous TURP, but in the end and over a year later, the infection is gone, and sexual function is in tact. Highly recommended.

Exceeded Expectations
He was honest, reassuring and let me choose radiation over surgery. From initial visit to biopsy to prep for radiation, he won my complete confidence.

Minimal pain and no blood
Was very nervous about a prostate biopsy, but the doctor was pleasant, fast and skillful. I expected a lot of blood afterwards, but to my surprise there has been almost none. I wanted the best urologist I could find. I read about quite a few. Glad Dr. Josephson is looking after my health. World-class.

He doesn't return calls
Dr. Josephson is one of the worst dr. I have ever seen. He removed my kidney stone. one day after my surgery I had very bad pain and spasem in my blader the urine was coming out around the cathador he inserted in me when I go to remove my cathador the front desk tells me he is in vacation and there is not any appointment for you. I had to become really angry and tell the front desk lady that I needed to see someone to remove the cathador. After some time, a nurse comes and takes me in a room, and he tells me that they connect the hose to the wrong port of the bag, and thats why I had the spasem. I asked him if I had to come back he and the young Dr said no . The next day, I had a bad pain in my kidney, and I went back to tower urology to see what they could do. He was still on vacation and had to see another Dr. When he checked me, he said there was nothing in the record file that Dr. Josephson was supposed to fill .se he had to ultrasound to see if there was a stent in my kidney .

solid doctor
Dr. J speaks directly and honestly without varnishing his words. Has a good sense of humor and efficient with his methods. He is open to using diet or alternative methods that may help a person's health as long as it does not interfere with the protocol.

Review for David Y. Josephson, MD
In addition to very satisfactory on-going health care appointments with Dr. Josephson atTower Urology, I recently had to undergo day-surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center which exceeded expectations. Pre-surgery concerns were promptly responded to by Dr. Josephson and successfully addressed during surgery. Post-surgical outcomes included very manageable pain and the absence of any complications. Day of, everyone involved in pre-surgery, in the surgery room, and recovery provided me with expert and compassionate care. I had nothing but positive encounters and encouragement at each step of the way. Dr. Josephson, and his colleagues at Tower Urology and Cedars-Sinai, are a class act; role models delivering the kind of health care one hopes for.

Dr Josephson removed my prastrat gland in 2016. He took incredible care on not damaging any nerves so my manhood would be spared. Well, let me tell you..I am totally cancer free. On top of that I see and feel no difference sexually in all aspects. Even tough there is no fluid , it completely feels that there is. To sum it up I feel and function exactly as I did before the surgery. Not only that but the whole experience was pleasant.

Dr. Josephson is the best in in my opinion. He listens to all your concerns and takes as much time as needed so you have a full understanding of what your options are. He is compassionate . He is a top surgeon and his post surgery visits were quick and very efficient. I would highly recommend him if you are having prostate surgery.
