Dr. David Reel II, DO

He diagnosed me with a double hernia we made him and his staff aware of my allergies including latex yet in the middle of my procedure I went into anaphylactic shock they had to stop and try to counteract what was happening they eventually found what the problem was the band that was being used to pull back the first hernia was made of latex all this was disclosed to my wife and I during my recovery sent us home only for me to continue to have an allergic reaction to the pieces of latex that had been left in my body we tried calling the on call service no one ever returned our calls until we call the following day by that time my eyes throat and hands were swollen beyond belief not to mention I broke out with hive all over my body needless to say we rescheduled the second procedure I’ve never been more afraid of letting someone cut on me as I have when it came down to it but I felt I had no other choice thank god I’m here to tell my story please avoid using David Reel as your surgeon

Accepted a difficult surgery and succeeded despite mesh and scar tissue from previous surgeries. Back at work inside a week.

If you must have surgery, DO NOT let Dr. David Reel from Surgical Specialists (Paoli and Exton) lay a finger on you. A good friend of mine had hernia surgery performed by Dr. Reel this past spring and it all went horribly wrong. While my friend was in horrible pain in the days that followed the procedure, Dr. Reel would NOT return his call. After a trip to the Emergency Room, my friend was admitted and spent 4 very painful days in the hospital. He is still recovering, MONTHS later, and Dr. Reel has not reached out to him AT ALL. He lacks respect, empathy and most importantly, skills.
