Treats nurses horribly and bad bedside manners
I had the unfortunate experience of being treated by Dr. David Rizik, and I feel compelled to share my experience. As a 73-year-old woman dealing with heart failure, the situation is already frightening enough without being subjected to unprofessional behavior and questionable bedside manners. From the very start, Dr. Rizik came into my room and assured me that I was his top priority, even claiming that I was his 'first patient' of the day. However, within minutes of him leaving, I overheard him saying the exact same thing to another patient. This left me feeling deceived and disrespected. It's one thing to feel that you're being given personalized attention, but it quickly became clear that this was just a rehearsed line.Additionally, his treatment of the nursing staff was disturbing. He was extremely condescending to them, which did not sit well with me, especially in a healthcare environment where teamwork and respect are essential. My husband, who witnessed the whole interaction

Dr. Rizik is an amazing cardiologist and an even more amazing human being. I’ve been his patient for the last 6 years and my experience with him has always been second to none. His extremely high level of care, service, knowledge and expertise is exceptional and has always made me feel like I couldn’t be in better hands. Every time I’ve needed him, he’s been there; always taking the time to answer my questions and address my concerns, and never making me feel like he's too busy. My case is quite complicated, but Dr. Rizik didn't give up on me and was the only doctor who didn’t treat me like a ‘typical’ heart patient, as I wasn’t. I’m forever grateful to Dr. Rizik and his fabulous team at Scottsdale Heart Group and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He is the absolute BEST!!!

Recently I have been experiencing sever angina. Called Dr. Rizik and of course only got the front desk. Left a message a two days later get a call from the nurse, not Dr. Rizik, not even his assistant. She asks me the problem and I explain for two weeks I been having bad angina and need help. She said she would pass the message to Dr. Rizik. Next day she calls back and tells me a new prescription will be called in. A few days later the angina continues and is really bad. She says to go to the ER and Rizik is there and will see you. I go to the ER and the ER doctor says that Dr. Rizik says to go home and he'll call you. Of course no call. finally the office calls and schedules a video chat in a little over a week. The pain is getting worst, so finally after 5 weeks of this, I decided to call another doctor. This was on a Monday. Saw me on Tuesday and operated on me on Wednesday. Two Stents. I am now pain free and can breathe again. YOU ARE FIRED DR. RIZIK.

Thank you so much for the difference you make in the lives of your patients! Your kindness, sincere caring, and concern make everything better and are a great encouragement. Thank you so very much for taking care of my husband and being so skilled at what you do. Thank you for your patience, professionalism, hard work, and commitment to excellent medical care the recent surgery Mitraclip will give us a chance to continue battling his cancer. Dr. Rizik is both skilled in his area of expertise and very patient but what gave us peace was his personal care - both to the patient and family members walking this journey. Amazing experience.

It's been over five years since my dad died on the operating table while undergoing a routine angiogram/cardio cath performed by David Rizik. Anticipating success, my father made lunch plans for the following day. But he never woke up. According to the Coding Summary Sheet received from the hospital one of the primary causes of death was an accidental laceration at the hands of Dr. Rizik. This blinding reality is agonizing to this very day. Anyone considering David Rizik as their cardiologist needs to be absolutely aware of his medical history both good and bad. I can't possibly recommend Dr. Rizik and only hope that your experience is better than ours.

I’m not sure if Dr Rizic is a good doctor or not. Considering that he is so busy you have to wait a year to get an appointment, I’m assuming patients must like him; however, I don’t get to see him. I waited a year for an appointment to talk to his assistant for 5 minutes. No talking to Dr Rizik, no ekg, no testing of any kind and my insurance was billed over $300. It’s the 2nd time I waited a year and saw the assistant. No, I won’t recommend him. I have to find a different heart doctor.

Dr. Rizik is a very good cardio interventionist. He does all three things that doctors are supposed to do: patient care (clinical), teaching (medical students) and research such as the clinical trial of the TAVR aortic valve. But that makes him so busy that it's hard to get his attention.

On August 2, 2018 Dr. David Rizik performed an endovascular stent graft to replace my aortic valve. Prior to this surgery, I met with Dr. Rizik twice to discuss the procedure. Dr. Rizik did not inform me that there was a chance of strokes with the procedure. As a patient, I needed this information to determine whether I should proceed with the operation. I went into the procedure assured that I would be going home in no more than four days. Once I woke up after the surgery, I felt numbness over

Dr Rizik has taken care of me for 20 years and performed a number of procedures including angioplasty and stents. I feel like he really cares about me and he is a stickler about terrible and quality of his work May, his medical assistant, and Stephanie deserve high praise as well. Besides all that, I just like the guy.

I was referred to Dr Rizik, br a prominent cardiologist in the greater Detroit area. Dr Rizik met every expectation I had. His office is very professional and on time! Dr. Rizik was wonderful, timely, made me feel very comfortable, thorough, explained every thing to me. I referred a friend to him with in 12 hours of seeing him. I am so relieved that I have a cardiologist that I feel is exactly what I was looking for. He is everything my former cardiologidt said he’d be! Extremely happy!

None of the criteria below is relevant to our experience with Dr. David Rizik. My husband was under the care of this doctor four years ago for a routine angiogram/cardiac cath and did not survive the procedure. Dr. Rizik was admittedly responsible for an accidental laceration. Complications followed and my husband was pronounced dead early that evening. This loss was and still is excruciating. In our opinion, this doctor was unprofessional and unethical. We urge others to be guarded.

I suddenly developed atrial fibrillation. Dr. Rizik refused to believe me when I told him it had just come on. Then it seemed like he was barking orders at me. Rather than electrically converting me back to a normal heart rate in the ER, he insisted that I be admitted to the hospital for 24 hours. After being admitted, he never came to see me the first day, He woke me up at 5 am, and I really can not remember what he said to me after REM sleep. Then he turned me over to an associate.

He monitored my mother for 8 years. Late 2014 at her appt. 30 min discussion w/his nurse & he swung open the door saying "forget all that" its "wide open heart surgery" & "suspected several blockages" & ordered a angio. Turns out he was 100% wrong due to a condition (prior to 8 years) preventing life saving surgery. Rizik walked past me @ wait area after the angio. nurses called multi times & surgeon explained. Rizik nasty/mean when questioned"who are you to question me" etc...need I say more?

Had heart procedure done in November 2014. In Jan 2015 made a follow up appointment for January 2016. The doctor's office cancelled it and I have not been able to get another appointment despite repeated attempts. If you want a doctor that has time to see you, don't go here.
