Dr. David Westerman, MD

Doctor W told me that they would replace my cpap with a current, better model. Then when I came in a month later. he said since my machine was still working they would not replace it even though he had seen that the same cpap was working during the first visit. My insurance company had planned to pay their share of the cost since I was using the cpap the required percentage of time in order to qualify for a new one. Also, Dr. Westerman's practice lost my health records during move to new office so they no longer have results of my sleep study.

Dr. Westerman is highly knowledgeable and organized. He listens with intent. He cares. He is open to understanding patients fully and prescribing treatments that are effective and safe. My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Westerman, and it is a pleasure to meet with him, as he takes time to explain various symptoms, without dumbing them down. He is collaborative and committed to a process that could easily be cold and monotonous. It is clear he wants his patients to succeed.

Dr. Westerman is a great doctor; however, he sold his practice to Northside Hospital and while this may be a good thing for him it is horrible for his patients. I am going to have to find a new sleep apnea doctor because of Northside; arrogant and uncaring personnel; I can't get cushions for my machine and his office advises that they cannot give me an appointment for three weeks; absolutely not the slightest concern from the woman who answered the phone that this could impact my health.

Dr Westerman is a great doctor. His office is difficulty to deal with. They misled me about replacing my cpap machine, did not process the paperwork in a timely fashion causing me to miss my deductible and costing me $1000 out of pocket. They did not offer to rectify the situation or compensate me for my loss. They also failed to document one of my visits in their system which cost me an additional office visit in order to get cpap supplies. Very disappointed in the office practices!
