Been going to Dr Payne for 2. or more years. He has a wonderful, wonderful bedside manner. He is such a good doctor. I did go to Ashville to Dr Gough but he died of a brain problem. I told Dr Payne once that he reminded me of Dr Gough. I loved going to Dr Gough and after he died I went to Dr Payne. They both are so much alike. Very compassionate caring helpful Doctors. If you need a Rheumatologist I would suggest Dr Payne.....

I moved from coastal SC to Lenoir NC. My coming to NC was filled with apprehension in finding a good rheumatologist since I have advanced rheumatoid arthritis. I consider myself blessed in locating Dr. Payton. He and his staff have exceeded all of my expectations many times.

I used to be a patient of Dr. Payne but I left due to his office staffs attitude. Dr. Payne started out as a good doctor but as the years went on and he appeared to pay less attention to my problem as he did to others.

been seeing Dr Payne over 20 years . He's been a blessing in my treatment in office and at other medical facilities I've had to go to I would have hated to been on this journey ofAnkl. spondylitis without him. He sets the standard higher then any other Dr I've ever seen. Most of all he care's about you as a person never rushes always takes as much time as needed . Also Crystal one of the nurse's is fantastic . As well as the rest of the staff.

I saw Dr. Payne for the first time this week. I was very pleased with his explanation of things to me, and his unrushed demeanor. He was interested in hearing my perspective on my symptoms and my pain. He is very good at explaining things about conditions and medications.

I highly recommend seeing Dr. Payne. He is very affirming of my experiences and allows me to take an active role in my treatment. He takes his time to be sure all of my questions are answered and treats me with the upmost respect. His bedside manner is calm and reassuring. I have seen other rheumatologists before and Dr Payne is by far the best. I travel over an hour to see him and it is worth every minute of the trip.
