Dr. Debra Gargiulo, MD

It has been several years since we have seen this practitioner. However, this was my experience over about a 4 year span. She does not listen to the patient. She over prescribed the wrong medications causing further health issues. Once I thought I had strep (because my child had it first!) and she told me I was seeking meds - who seeks antibiotics? I insisted on a strep test, and it was positive. I was in a car accident on a Friday, and told to follow up with my doctor on Monday by the EMTs, to have an injury evaluated. One of the long time nurses (pre-dated her as a staff member, and had known our family for years) asked if I was Ok, and she responded 'Yeah, she's just here for the insurance money' My husband was also a patient and needed a letter about hardware surgically placed. She wrote the letter for the wrong limb, then tried to argue that we 'misread' her letter. (Not sure how you misread 'Right Wrist' instead of 'Left Ankle') Would not recommend.

Very snippy, doesn't listen, and just assumes. The only good thing is she was on time.

Horrible. My relative was a patient of hers and she never returned phone calls to either my relative or to the therapist my relative was seeing who was in the same building her office is in. When my relative was moving, I asked about a rapid COVID test so that we could get the results back quicker--my relative is 85+ years and was moving to a Senior Community--her answer was 'No'.

Absolutely love my doctor! She is straight forward and honest, a rarity today.

Worst experience at a Doctors office EVER! Staff was inconsiderate. Arrived on time. Was told couldn't see the Doctor because I didn't arrive 30 minutes early. Never told needed to arrive 30 minutes early. I Called 2 days prIor to confirm. WAS NEVER told to arrive 30 min early. Was suppose to have been sent paperwork- which didn't happen. Someone didn't do there job and I wasn't permitted to see the Dr. Receptionist wasted 20 min trying to figure out what to do! RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

Worst medical office in the Akron area. Refuse to write name brand prescriptions telling us not what insurance company recommends. I told them our daughters had problems with the generic and we would pay the difference. Instead sent us a letter removing us from practice. Beware!!!

I chose Dr Gargiulo based on her inspirational video on the AGMC website. However, I'm very disappointed with the 3 encounters I've had with her and her office. Initial visit, didn't get any questions answered, was told have to reschedule to discuss. Second time I called to schedule an urgent appointment for bronchitis, the secretary told me to go to an Urgent Care instead. Today I called and and secretary was very rude with my ques to ask the dr. for a preventative script. Other staff nice.

Absolutely love her! Her beliefs are similar to mine, she won't just medicate for the sake of medicating. She is also straight forward & tells you exactly what she thinks, not what you may want to hear. I love that she always takes plenty of time to answer my questions & is very thorough in explaining things. I have referred multiple people to her!

Unfortunately my doctor retired. I was looking for a new doctor and liked her video, boy was I surprised, was nothing like her video. Without even talking to me to started out saying blood pressure a little high will probably put me on blood pressure medication she also looked at me and said you are probably diabetic. I said wow wait a minute you have not even talked to me about past history. Had blood tests and they all came back with great readings.

Would not refill my anxiety medicine that I've been on for years from another Dr. because she felt they give you a buzz and I don't like it. Now I'm sick from anxiety and she's opinionated. Wine is legal and it gives you a buzz. I don't understand her. She would not refill my water pill either. she didn't like it
