I consider myself very fortunate to have had Dr. Deune taking care of my hands for the past five years. I have needed several surgeries and Dr. Deune readily answered my questions, explained the procedures, and was always very accessible. I could not have asked for anything more from a doctor. Anyone who is lucky enough to have him for a surgeon should feel confident that they are with the very best. He will be missed.

Dr. Deune is an excellent physician. He has fixed my “trigger finger” with a simple injection. Other doctors wanted to do surgery but Dr. Deune was willing to take a more conservative approach. I really appreciate that. He is kind, caring and quietly listens while providing an excellent diagnosis and treatment.

He is very clear when explaining the diagnosis and the options. Also quite careful with statistics. I am a retired physician and recognize event care when I receive it.

Dr. Deune performed carpel tunnel surgery on both of my hands (six months apart). The procedures were painless and without complications. I am very happy that Dr. Deune did the procedures as the doctor that initially diagnosed my condition was proposing to do a more involved procedure, Dr Deune concluded was not warranted. He was right! My right hand is fully healed and is getting stronger each day. My lift hand is still healing but so far everything looks great! I highly recommend Dr. Deune. He is a top hand surgeon. He was well worth traveling from the 40 miles from Washington DC to Johns Hopkins for the surgeries.

I broke my middle finger in a way that wouldn't heal on its own. Dr. Deune explained the situation well and let me know all my options. He listened to my concerns and helped me decide on a less invasive surgical technique (K-wire) with the possibility of switching to another procedure (ORIF) mid-surgery if needed. I was very comfortable with this decision. He explained everything I should expect to experience before, during, and after and did an excellent job performing surgery and followup.
