The best
I was a patient of Dr Rippel since 1996. I became a patient because there was no one willing to stick with me due to my eating disorder. When I started Dr Rippel went above and beyond to learn EVERYTHING HE COULD about ED’s and trauma. He literally made a promise to never give up on me, and that promise is why I’m here now. He no longer is practicing at IMGNH, and it’s my hope he finds a new home. The negative reviews below all happened AFTER he merged. The support and care he provided I believe was compromised by this group. If you see his name come up in a Google search showing him practicing again, make an appointment.

Had enough - 2 of 2
continued… I confided in my new PCP and he ensured me I do not need breast exams if I’m getting them from my gynecologist (which I always do annually, as well as mammograms now) and, EVEN STILL, he has a female chaperone in with us the whole time. I do not recommend Dr. Rippel.

No time for his patients
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rippel for over 20yrs. He’s very blunt and honest. If you’re even slightly overweight he has no problem calling you “fat”. He’s very cocky and talks down to you unless you fit HIS lifestyle. In the last 5 years I’ve maybe seen him once. Every appointment has been with whatever APRN is on his staff this week(it’s a revolving door). Ever since his office merged with Greather New Haven he’s lost allInterest in his long time patients and the office staff seems to change often. I decided to leave after no longer feeling like a patient and tired of being spoken to like garbage

No Time for His Patients
After 3 consecutive cancellations I decided to leave Dr. Rippel. He no longer wants to work and is more interested in tai chi and talking down to his patients. Find yourself a better doctor, there are plenty of better options out there.

I went to Dr. Rippel a couple of years ago when I was experiencing terrible stomach issues and he continuously told me it was just constipation, when that was far from the case. He would press on my stomach and come up with that answer…everytime.. so instead of allowing my health to continuously decline and be medically gaslit, I decided to get a second opinion by an actual gastroenterologist, to find out that I had/have a severe stomach disorder. If I would have listened, who knows where my health would be today. I say this to say—you know your body and you know when something is off..please get second opinions.

I have been a patient of Dr Rippel for more them 20 years. That my friends is a possitive testimony in itself for this excellent physician. He has given me confidence in his handling of my health issues and I always can count on him to be a straight shooter with questions and answers. When talking with him about health issues or with evey day life, he makes me feel like a real human being and not just a number! He is not only my physician but my FRIEND. He has kept me healthy all these years and my meds which he has thoughtfully prescribed, do what they are suppose to. I would recommend Dr. Rippel to anyone especially if you fear"white coats"! You have nothing to fear here.

Dr Rippel is personal, professional and knowledgeable. He has a great bedside manner, is technically inclined, and is open and honest. Now, I must warn you... if you are looking for the "rose-colored glasses, sweet cotton candy" type he is NOT your guy. He cares about his patients and takes healthcare serious. Don't take it personal if he is direct... that is just who he is. I like him very much. If I wanted someone to yes me, I would ask my mother or the "youtube" doctors. ^5 Dr Rippel

He is an excellent doctor. Very thorough and takes the time to explain your diagnosis and treatment plan in layman's terms that are easy to understand. He makes you feel comfortable in his care and treatment. My former PCP of 37 years retired and a friend highly recommended Dr. Rippel to me and I'm so glad she did. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a great, kind, experienced and caring doctor. His APRN Jill and his office staff, Lisa & Anna, and his medical assistants are all top notch!

Dr Rippel and his staff at Quinnipiac Internal Medicine are the best! I never feel rushed and I always feel heard with Dr Rippel. He is a patient listener and he is willing to spend time in answering my questions. I had recently moved to a town a bit further away but I would rather drive the extra miles rather than change practitioners.

He is a very nice doctor, very encouraging, although can have a slight "Holier than thou" attitude, he takes some time getting used to, just like any other doctor. Be prepared for Blood tests and urine tests on the spot, Pneumonia and Hepatitis vaccines, etc. on your first visit. His RPNA is extremely nice, and helpful. You are not rushed through your appointment, and he will answer any questions you have, even if you do have a difference of opinion. He is "quite" pleasant

I am a retired internist/cardiologist. My wife and I moved from MA to Hamden, CT in May 2017. I reasearched extensively and found Dr. E. Rippel's credentials to be the best in Hamden. Our 1st visit proved it. He was very nice and was willing to communicate any way we wanted. His office staff was very friendly. The added benefit was availability of blood tests in the office. Everything was great.

Very efficient examination. I was a bit put-off by his direct style- he started grilling me with questions while I was still lying down woozy after giving blood. I got the impression he didn't have a lot of time for me (I did arrive 15 minutes late) and he even interrupted some of my answers to his questions. I thought he gave very apt advice overall.
