not a great experience
I wish I had seen the reviews before I made the appointment and had to wait another hour and a half after the scheduled time. I fully agree that this Dr. did not look at me, nor explain any of the multitude of tests she scheduled for me, nor did she make me feel like I even existed.

No Prep Process
For a colonoscopy: the prep is the procedure. The directions for prep were unclear (read: illiterate) and calling the office just made things more confusing. This doctor has no process in place to help a patient prep (no money in that part!). Stay clear.

Incompetent
Unsuccessful colonoscopy bc her office is dysfunctional and provides USELESS prep guidance. She's in charge so it's on her. No colonoscopy can overcome a poor prep. How her hospital supervisors have never reviewed her ridiculous prep process speaks very badly about NYU.

Dr Janec is an incredible doctor. She has been taking care of me for a few years now. Recently, I have been getting sicker, and she is always available and goes above her call of duty to take care of me.

I saw Dr. Janec four years ago for a colonoscopy. I was referred to her by other NYU doctors that I trust. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Janec. She was unkind and rude and left me feeling horrible after the colonoscopy procedure as she "berated" me after my procedure me for the ore-treatment (that she prescribed!) not being sufficient. As a point of reference, I have had other colonoscopies with other doctors that were completely fine and I had no issues. Further, she/her office never put the results in my patient chart and after calling her office several times about it, I was told everything from "I'll check with my supervisor" (and never hearing back) to "you should contact NYU's IT" (which is utterly ridiculous). I have since switched GI doctors and have received excellent treatment and care. I have NEVER had a bad physician experience until I met Dr. Janec and recommend to any one looking for a GI doctor to look elsewhere.

Has no interest or curiosity about anything related to one's GI tract issues other than what she was "brought in to do." ouldn't recall much from the endoscopy she performed about what was occurring in my GI tract except her inability to remotely biopsy an enlarged lymph node. On day of endoscopy she did not, as other GI doctors have, talk to me. When I was rolled into room I greeted her-she said nothing, and didn't speak to me when I was being prepared. Afteshe appeared briefly, stood 12 feet or more away so I could barely hear her, told me to stop eating crackers, tol me she "couldn't find it", and few things I couldn't make out, didn't ask me if I had any questions and left. Later on video she announced, "I was brought in to look for malignancies. I didn't find any, so I don't see any role for me." On the one hand, she clearly has a sub-specialty that is useful. however, she is not someone who would be helpful in helping to find cause of a difficult-to-diagnose condition.

Met Dr. J over a year ago; her colleagues at NYU recommended her to me and thought very highly of her. Had a colonoscopy / endoscopy with her about a week ago and had a very positive experience. Before the procedure, she and her staff were prompt and clear in explaining things to me and responding to my questions. We also had a video appointment together. She told me exactly what was going to be done, and it was. She ran the procedure room in an orderly, confident and pleasant way, which certainly inspired comfort in a patient about to receive anesthesia. No drama, no lack of clarity, and no discomfort. She sat with me afterwards and explained the preliminary results, as well as what we would have to wait for. We have another video appointment scheduled to review test results in detail. Highly professional.

Dr. Janec is the worst Doctor I have ever come across. Bar none. And I am serious. My Mother is dead...Yeah, if that is not enough. Janec has absolutely no bedside manner -- doesn't know how to even have a pulse. ITS TERRIBLE! You are diagnosing people with CANCER!!! Dr. Janec has absolutely no clue in how to communicate with a patient. She is the worst Doctor, bar none, that I have ever come across. And should be disbarred!!!
