Dr. Emily Chen, MD

We saw Dr. Chen desperately after our son was having ear pain all night. I suspected it was an ear infection for two reasons 1. My mom gut 2. I had read from other pediatricians that secondary infections were very common this fall season, especially following RSV/flu. Dr. Chen claimed to not see an infection . She tested and said it had to be RSV since the test was positive, despite me saying that RSV symptoms had passed and there was no more congestion. A couple days later my son had a ruptured ear drum. The infection was a secondary infection from RSV (which my son recovered from). If the doctor had taken the time to actually listen to what I was trying to tell her, perhaps she would have considered that and not asked us to wait an entire five days for a follow up. I wouldn't have written the review, but the kicker on top was that the practice billed us 70 dollars for "removal of ear wax" from the visit. There was barely anything she removed to check incorrectly for an infection.
