Dr. Eric Carkner, MD

Dr. Carkner is an accomplished and outstanding spine surgeon. His operation on my lumbar spine - PSF with instrumentation, Laminectomy and TLIF to address my stenosis, neurogenic claudication, radiculopathy and spondylolisthesis - (that he) performed with an impeccable expertise, skill, professionalism, precision and passion was a remarkable success.Dr. Carkner is phenomenal - par excellence!Eric has a pleasant disposition; he’s respectful and respectable.Patient care is always top of mind for Dr. Carkner.

I conferred with him to provide a 2nd opinion to my spinal condition. He was pleasant to talk to, quite knowledgeable and listened well. He fielded my questions precisely and wasn't annoyed by me asking for repeated explanations. The next day, when I had a follow-up question via the online portal, he responded within an hour - most impressive.Being a personable guy made the session enjoyable.

I contacted Dr. Carkner with concerns regarding possibly a new level spinal issue as I had successful ALIF spinal fusion surgery a year ago. I was able to have consult with him a couple of days later. As always he took the time to listen to my concerns and then explained the anatomy of my spine and how it related to what I was experiencing. While I was thinking the worse, he calmed those anxieties and provided me with a solid game plan moving forward.

I had cervical fusion by Dr Carkner about two years ago. He and his staff are very professional and are great to deal with. He explains things very well and will communicate important information directly. His detailed care summaries about office visits are much appreciated. Appointments are usually quick to come by, and his team is extremely accommodating and thorough helping to make things go smoothly.

Dr Carkner was sympathetic, interested, courteous and encouraging. Treated me and my wife with respect. He was patient and thorough explaining my condition and options. We left the appointment feeling relieved and hopeful.

I can’t recommend Dr Carkner and his Physician Associates enough. They took on a complicated issue that required research to determine the appropriate device when others wouldn’t. His care got me my life back.

I’ve ha two surgeries with Dr Carkner. When anew problem appeared I was back in his office. He listened to my complaints and did not rush me. I will meet with him again after another MRI. I’m sure he can help solve this issue as well as my first two.
