Dr. Erwin Szela, MD

The staff at the surgery office were exceptionally pleasant and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Despite feeling apprehensive, they successfully put me at ease. As someone who tends to be anxious about most things, I was impressed by the doctor's expertise, and I am delighted with the outcome of the surgery. My gratitude extends to the entire staff.

This was the most disturbing visit I have ever had with a doctor! I went in to have my Birth control removed from my arm and instead was told I was having a pap that I did not request! I have been waiting 2 years to get this BC removed and I have to wait even more! Because he did not remove it even though that is all I was going in for! So needless to say I had to strip and put on the paper gown! He did not knock and just walked in! He told me lets get this started and told me to put my feet in the stirrups and push my butt off the bed! I am disabled and this is difficult for me! He did not warn me he was going to start just shoved the speculum in! I did not get a warning for the pinch! He pulled out the speculum and said ok. then he stood up I assumed he was done then he shoved his fingers inside of me! NO WARNING NO EXPLANATION!!!!!!! I will never go back and now I have to find a new Dr to remove the BC that expired 2 years ago and no one wants to take out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Zsela after being told he specializes with endometriosis. After discussing my symptoms with him it was apparent he's working on outdated information of the disease. He was aggressive, dismissive and quite frankly rude. I would ask him questions about symptoms and he would contradict himself from one question to the next without batting an eye. He became irate when he found out my pcp prescribed me migraine medicine while I was on hormonal birth control, because certain symptoms can can increase risk of stroke, but my pcp made sure I didn't have those symptoms before prescribing the medicine. He kept trying to pressure me towards treatments I told him I was uncomfortable with. I think the worst of all was immediately after explaining to him that my husband and I don't want kids, we had discussed it for years with no change he told me that if I got pregnant it might relieve my symptoms for a few years and if not at least I'd have a baby afterwards.

He has been my doctor for over 25 years. He delivered my child and has been extremely caring and thorough throughout the years. I highly recommend him!

Great Doctor ! Always makes sure I leave his office with no questions . Explains everything to me and makes me aware of my options . His very knowledgeable doctor . Very straightforward and honest .

Phenomenal doctor! I cant believe reading some of these reviews that he is cold. He is a doctor who addresses issues and recommends solutions, not a clown. If you want someone to hold your hand and tell you everything will be okay, you belong at a kuku house. Dr Szela saved my life 3 years ago when i was loosing a crazy amount of blood due to an ectopic pregnancy and i wouldnt go to any other doctor. He is gentle and caring and make sure you come with questions, because he has all the answers!

He NEVER came to talk to me after my procedure. It took them a week to tell me exactly what they did to me. I asked for more pain medication within the first 2 weeks post-op and he refused to give it to me. He wouldn't answer my calls. I would never recommend this doctor to my worst enemy!

NEVER GO TO HIM!!! I just left my appointment with him and he is the coldest doctor I've ever had. He had his back turned to me the majority of the time, didn't offer any advice or information. He doesn't smile or feel warm whatsoever and this is my first baby, so I'm nervous and appreciate when people are kind. When he was done he left the room and didn't even tell me we were finished. I sat with my pants down waiting like an idiot until I just left. I'll NEVER go back to him.

I have called the office seven times in four days to get my colposcopy results from Dr. Szela, and each time I have received an acknowledgement of my previous calls, an indication of no knowledge as to why he has not called me, despite the results being in, and an assurance that he will call within the day. I have still not learned my results and I am now looking into having them sent elsewhere for interpretation. This is unacceptable.

He just performed a DaVinci hysterectomy for me. Explained everything in detail prior to surgery. Preop (and first) appointment was very thorough. My prior doctor told me I was only a candidate for a full 'old fashioned' hysterectomy which has double the recovery time. Dr. Szela proved him wrong! One week out and I'm doing as well as expected.

After having a biopsy, Dr. Szela walked in the room to meet with my husband and I to discuss results. He sat with his back to us the entire time. He didn't acknowledge either of us upon entering the room and told me my biopsy results were negative. While this was great news, this should have been a phone call to me several days earlier when the results were in. This waiting caused undo worry for a week. He clearly just wanted to get the money for the visit. Beware!!!

I hope he is not the doctor on-call during my delivery. My first appointment him was at 35 weeks pregnant (for 5 minutes) and he suggested a c-section after less than a minute of talking to me. He seemed very uncomfortable, did not ask me any questions and when he saw my hesitation regarding a c-section (considering none of the other doctors had mentioned one), he said, that I shouldn't risk the chance that a natural delivery could result in death. Who says that!? Horrible experience with him

Dr. Szela was unfriendly, arrogant and dismissive.He barely made eye contact with me.The new patient form had no medical history questions.He had no info on me at all,and he never asked me any questions about my history.My appt was to establish myself as a new patient, annual exam & discuss my current issues w/ endometriosis.He treated me like I was a narcotic seeking junkie, despite the fact that I never even brought up medication.In fact,I barely spoke.He was rude and offensive.I left in tears

I would not under any circumstances recommend Dr. Erwin Szela to anyone. He immediately opted for surgery instead of running proper tests or trying to diagnose the problem.
