Leaving his care feeling disrespected
Absolutely pitiful practitioner behavior. He asks questions and doesn’t even listen to the answers or look at me when I speak (typed in his computer the whole time). Took my almost a yr to get injections bc his communication with his staff was so poor. Messed up my RXs MULTIPLE times, and gave me a 1 day notice to get an in person visit for meds I desperately need so I had to miss work, only to be told I’m fine and I seem great and this could have been telehealth (after he said it could not). Claims to be head of the panda tic clinic, but when I mentioned injections for tics after going to ticcon research seminars, he said he’d never heard of that. He is arrogant, ignorant, and is blatantly disrespectful of time, my concerns, and my needs as a patient. I’m in the process of getting a new Dr ASAP, bc the only thing I need him for is meds and shots (since he gives no useful medical counseling), and he doesn’t even do that good.

Worst Experience with a Doctor I've Had in my Life
This doctor has the absolute worst bedside manner and is very flippant. He might be good with curing adult migraines, but do not bring your child here. He examined our child and in no less than 2 minutes decided he was equipped with enough information to diagnose. We got a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinion and every other medical professional said they absolutely could not see what he was talking about or even understand where he would come up with such a diagnosis. It was also interesting to hear that every medical professional we talked to who was familiar with him said he has a poor reputation amongst other medical professionals. I don't use "every" as a way to exaggerate my point. His reputation speaks for itself and its a shame his practice continues to stay afloat simply because pediatric neurologists are far and few between. Go to CHOA instead. You'll save yourself a lot of unnecessary heartache and pain.

He is a great doctor, but sometimes I feel as though he doesn't fully listen to me or my daughter. Our last few appointments have felt rushed even though we were generally one of the first appointments of the day.

I've been seeing Dr. Berenson for many years. He has practically eliminated my migrains. They were debilitating to the degree that I never planned anything because there was a good chance that I would not be able to follow through. There are minimal if any wait times, and he is very genuine.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Berenson. He was prompt, took his time, and was very helpful. I am glad that I was not deterred by the negative reviews.

Among the worst bedside manners I've ever experienced. Like a stereotype of an arrogant doctor. I couldn't even finish a sentence, he had no interest in listening to me. My symptoms are debilitating, but apparently not too interesting or novel for this person. Coming away from that appointment I told myself I'd never go to this practice again.

As someone who has struggled with migraines for now, 17 years, it is easy to want to give up. After going through many medications, treatments, even the newest “breakthrough migraine injections” with not much luck. He continues to encourage me, tell me there is so many more options and we’re not done yet. He is nothing short of kind, attentive, very intelligent and a great physician. I would recommend Dr. Frank Berenson to anyone.

Dr. Berenson has been treating me for several years for chronic migraines, and has completely turned my life around. He is always very friendly, personable, and extremely punctual. His staff is also wonderful. When my young daughter also started getting migraines I wouldn’t let any other doctor see him. He is very great about taking your concerns into account ( I.e. I didn’t want my daughter to try a certain headache treatment, so he found an alternative for me).

Dr. Berenson knows more about headaches than other neurologists I’ve seen and I’ve seen at least 7 or more different ones. He talks the talk. He asks the right questions. He knows migraines. I don’t know for certain, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he himself suffers from migrainesor more headache days a month, and, last month I had 9. I feel like I’m back, among the living. I can play tennis, go to the movies, and eat out at restaurants without getting a migraine. Thank You Dr. Berenson

I have been in Dr. Berenson's care for about 5 years for migraines. It's been a rough ride, but I'm doing much better. It's taken a while, but we've gotten my headaches under control. I've always appreciated the conscientiousness of his staff - they are wonderful.

One star is even too much for this doctor. Smug, arrogant, and zero bedside manner whatsoever. He might be highly educated in his field but he gives not one ounce of empathy or reassurance to the patient. He will talk over you when you try to explain your issues. And don't even try to ask him any questions about treatment options. If he doesn't agree with it, he will arrogantly let you know. Unfortunately there are not many physicians with his level of expertise in the Atlanta area. So sad.

Would give him zero stars if I could. He started out friendly, but then became very hands on and in my personal space. He started to turn appointments into personal questioning instead of medical. He hugged me for 10 seconds on two appointments (out of probably the 4 times I saw him) and squeezed my shoulder for long amounts of time, multiple times telling me how proud he was of me on those same appointments. He talked right over my mom and I when we had questions for him, and was very arrogant

Worst doctor we have ever seen. Very rude, arrogant and stubborn. He doesn’t care about his patients and crying out loud he is seeing kids and he has no empathy. He is walking around outside eating candies but doesn’t have a time to care his patients. He should change his profession and become an actor as he is playing games with his patients.

Watch out. His initial consultation visit: $440. I tried twice to obtain a cost estimate before I went for initial visit but staff was not able to provide one. I should not have kept my appointment but symptoms were severe. At the appointment, got in quickly. Dr's opinions? Sounded confident but really didn't know other than mentioning inflammation. And later, when I disputed the very high cost of the initial visit, a staff was quickly able to provide a cost range of follow up visits!

Dr Berenson is arrogant, impatient and completely oblivious to the issues facing children with epilepsy. He dismissed my 12 year old's worries and questions about her illness without any empathy at all. He acts as if prescribing any medication is a terrible inconvenience. The office staff is kind but they aren't speedy in returning calls. All in all, a bad experience. We will find another neurologist.

My daughter and I have suffered with migraines for years until we were treated by Dr. Berenson. His expertise has successfully helped us prevent and manage the pain. His bedside manner puts you at ease. He even comes out to the waiting room to retrieve his patients himself. You feel as if he spends a lot of time with you and you're never rushed, yet you never have to wait long, if at all, to see him.
