As a former US Navy member, I was drawn to Dr. Kuwamura’s 5-star reviews and bio, especially his shared military background. After carefully considering my options, I made the decision to undergo surgery with him. After surgery, I was able to return to long-distance cycling, a passion of mine. This allowed me to pursue my goal of completing a century. Additionally, I was able to resume my studies at college and sit for extended periods without the pain that had previously hindered me.Thanks to Dr. Kuwamura’s exceptional skill and care as my orthopedic surgeon, I was able to complete my Bachelor’s degree. His treatment has had a profound impact on my life, leading to a significant improvement in my quality of life. I highly recommend Dr. Kuwamura to anyone seeking spinal surgery. You will not only thrive after the surgery but also live for your dreams and quality of life

Incredible Physician
Dr. Kuwamura is an amazing doctor. He works with you as the patient in determining what you're willing to have done through discussions giving options to think about. Five years ago he recommended a conservative approach to solving my spinal issues and began by referring me for pain management which was effective for a year. Next, he implanted a spinal neurostimulator to reduce pain which was effective for four and a half years. Today he performed MITR (minimally invasive tubular retractor) lumbar microsurgery to remove herniated parts of lumbar discs that are pressing spinal nerve roots. Based on just a few hours post-recovery, I feel very optimistic that it was effective in lessening the radiculopathy (nerve pain) progressing down both legs. I am so blessed to have found Dr. K.!

I have to say we could not be happier with our experience with Dr K. His staff was very welcoming, professional, and responsive. But I have to say Dr K has been a Blessing to my wife and I. My wife SUFFERED with back pain for years. First meeting with Dr Kuwamura his bedside manner is great, he is friendly, professional, explains everything thoroughly and more importantly listens to all of our concerns and needs. He explained what he could do to make things better. My wife had L4, L5 fused with S1. She suffered with leg pain for years, ALL of which is "Gone" after surgery. She is pain free, walking better, feeling great and looking forward so much to returning to a better quality-of-life. I am myself looking forward to having my wife more at my side than laid up in bed. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Dr Kuwamura, you have made our lives whole again. The Garcias

After living with pain for 3 yrs......A year ago this month I made a very difficult decision for myself to have a ALIF Surgery. Months before I had the SI Joint Fusion surgery (by a diff doctor) that did not work. It actually made my pain worse. I visited with Dr Kuwamura and he sent me to have several test done before coming to the conclusion of needing the ALIF......even sent me for a second opinion himself because he saw I was scared. After having the ALIF Surgery my recovery was not difficult at all......to be honest I was back at work 2 weeks later (desk job). I was so pleased with Dr Kuwamura himself, he has amazing bedside manners, his office staff, the hospital staff as well. Everyone was so kind and compassionate. I am celebrating my year anniversary in a few more days..I am EXTREMELY happy with my results. I FINALLY have my life back!!!!! Thank you to Dr Kuwamura for your gentle hands that fixed my back issues!!!!! CELEBRATING 1 YEAR PAIN FREE!!!!!

Dr K is a great doctor and skilled surgeon. He told me on a previous visit I needed a minimal laminectomy.I went back a month later after the symptoms worsened to see if it could still be done.He said yes&asked if I wanted to schedule then.I said I would call the next day to schedule it.Did that, was given Maria's voicemail, left a message.Again 2 days later.Went in person 3th day.On phone couldn't talk.8 messages left in all,no call back.Total waste of time.Bye-bye Dr.K.Please get better staffing

every thing was great leading up to the surgery. but after, they dont care. I developed 2 autoimmune disorders bcuz the surgery. they dont tell you that is possible before hand. then 5 months later, I get a call that I owe a balance of $94. $70 of which is bull. from a copay they claim I didnt pay. but It was paid in cash and they lost receipt. I tried to pay the other $24 right then and she refused payment. but told me they canceled all my appt until its paid in full. so I cant see him anymore

I was referred to Dr. Kuwamura about 2 months ago. Taren called me right away and was asking to schedule me. I was paying out of pocket so at the time, Taren said I could get my CT scan before I saw the Dr. rather than pay for two trips since I would probably need a CT anyway. Had trouble getting CT because needed referrals from in network Dr so I changed my insurance to one that includes Kuwamura as well as the CT place. Got my CT finally and called Kuwamura to schedule. Now a new girl, Meliss

Dr. Kuwamura gave me my life back! Great staff, nice office, you will immediately feel comfortable and well taken care of. After 14 other surgeons said no, he was the first to say yes. I have degenerative disk disease, spondylosis, femoral narrowing, etc. etc. etc. If there is a problem, I have it! I had 3 destroyed disks in my neck, and 4 in my lower back. I was planning to get my lower back done first, but a vertebra in my neck slipped, making it impossible to function. Dr K fixed me!

Dr. Kuwamura is a fabulous surgeon with great bedside demeanor. He explained my surgery completely, letting me know exactly what to expect before, during, and after surgery. The follow up visits and any concerns after surgery were handled with dignity and respect, not only by Dr. Kuwamura but also his staff. I would strongly recommend Dr. Kuwamura for anyone in need of cervical surgery. Thanks so much, Dr. K.

Horrible! Office staff is rude, inconsiderate, lacks empathy and compassion! If you are suffering and in need of relief don't go here. It will take several months of repeated appointments and more expensive than usual MRI's and physical therapy and repeated calls to get the treatment you need. They tell you they are going to call you, order an MRI and you have to keep calling them back! Waste of money and time. Go somewhere else! Wait time good cause no patients are there. Never saw any others

The Office Staff at Dr. Kuwamura's office are the most inconsiderate, uncompassionate, unprofessional people I have ever dealt with in the medical realm! They scheduled me for surgery and 6 days later told me they took if off the books. After an 8 minute phone call to reschedule surgery, I still didn't get a day that was even available before I just hung up. If you don't mind rude inconsiderate people; this is the place to go. They even told me I should find another Dr. Not doing him any favors

I will absolutely recommend Dr. Kuwamura and his staff. They are sensitive to your needs, provide treatment options and each's pros and cons, follows through his promises and your care.. I had a neck (cervical) and back fusions (L4/L5-S1) and the greatest of care through recovery and thereafter to assure the best possible outcome. I am indebted to his care, his staff for the care and outcomes of both surgeries.
