Dr. Fred Shahan, MD

Dr. Shahan has been our dermatologist for more than ten years. We see him at his Encinitas office. In addition to being very knowledgeable, Dr. Shahan is professional and caring and always addresses our questions and concerns. His staff is highly qualified, courteous and efficient.

I have been a patient of Dr Shahan’s for several years and he’s an excellent doctor. He has provided me and my family with quality care. His staff is very professional and polite. I would highly recommend him for anyone in need of a great dermatologist.

Dr. Shahan is a wonderful doctor with a pleasant personality. He explained everything about the procedure in detail and helped me feel comfortable. His front-desk staff are friendly and patient. Most of his nursing staff is as well. The scar is barely visible, too, which was a concern as the cancer was just above my upper lip.

Dr. Shahan provided life saving care for me. I wish to thank him and his staff for how they helped me through a very dangerous situation. Anyone who finds unusual changes to their skin or underlying tissue should not wait to have it examined. Dr. Shahan is who I suggest you see.

Dr. Shahan became my Dermatologist this year and I have learned that if you want a no nonsense, effective ,efficient Doctor then he is the man. Like most Doctors ,of all trades ,he works fast and his office operates like a fine tuned assembly line. Having said that I decided I don’t need a psychologist and will take his expert work over a long chat anytime. I highly recommended Dr Fred Shahan. I have found visits to Dr. Shahan's office very comfortable, regardless of the test results I might not want to hear. He and his staff are very friendly and competent. His examines are performed in a very gentle manner with discussion about what he is looking at/for in a confident and understandable manner. The results and needed treatments are clearly explained, questions thoughtfully answered, and followup to treatments are through. I know when I walk into his office I will be warmly greet, throughly examined, and provided with clear results, and the needed treatment will be provided. When I exit the office I have confidence that I am being well cared for.

I am a 75 year blonde hair/light complexion male who enjoys the outdoors and beaches. I know the importance of making sure you get regular checkups and if needed, simple freezing of potential problem spots. Dr. Shahan is friendly, and a good listener..but most importantly he has the patience, skills and time to spot anything before it turns into a problem.
