So thankful to have found this caring physician
Dr. Jett helped me through a very scary time in my life in early 2017 when x-rays done at a an urgent care visit for what I thought was pneumonia revealed a large mass in my chest that was attached to my heart. Dr. Jett worked with my insurance company to get the diagnostic testing I needed and that was being denied. Before I met with Dr. Jett to review the imaging, he had already temporarily scheduled my surgery 3 days later, just in case I was ready to proceed right away. I definitely was! He was so very kind and compassionate throughout the entire ordeal. He answered my questions honestly but never alarmed me. Between Dr. Jett and his PAs/nurse practitioners, I was always informed during the entire hospital stay. I am very fortunate that the mass was benign. I never want to go through that again. However, if I had to, there is no other provider I would consider going to. I am so thankful I found him.

My wife was diagnosed with lung cancer July 2021 by Dr. Omar Awad 4716 ALLIANCE Blvd Ste 700, PLANO, TX 75093 ·and he referred my wife to a thoracic surgeon Dr. Gary Kimble Jett, 4708 Alliance Blvd #540 Plano, TX 75093. He performed an outpatient lymph node biopsy 8/26/2021 at Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano Tx and lacerated her right pulmonary artery during the procedure. He had to crack her chest open to repair the damage that he did. My wife had two chest tubes for drainage put in her chest. 24 hours (8/27/2021) after the surgery his associate (a lady name not given) removed one of the chest tubes. I agreed to that removal since that one tube was not draining much fluid. 48 hours (8/28/2021) after the surgery he had his associate (same lady) come in to remove the second chest tube against my request to not remove it since it was still draining 336 ml per day (per computer records). His associate told me that Dr. Jett wanted it removed that day (no reason given) and t

During my father's surgery for a Maze procedure to correct his A-fib, Dr Jett accidentally punctured the heart all the way through and he did not notice his mistake. My father bled profusely internally from his heart after surgery and had to be rushed back to the OR thanks to the observations of the ICU nurse. During the same surgery Dr Jett additionally did a heart bypass on my father that failed because the graft "suffered from steal." This means the newly placed blood vessel to supply the heart with blood collapses because the surgeon fails to prevent "steal" where blood that should go to the heart instead goes the path of least resistance away from the heart, therefore the most important vessel collapses. When this failure occurs, the heart is said to "suffer from steal", literally blood being stolen away. Doctors I spoke to that viewed my father's post surgical cardiac imaging informed me that this was a failure of the surgeon to place a small clip.

Dr. Jett was able to perform a robotic completion pericardiectomy, when other surgeons were afraid to take the case due to having previous open heart surgery/anterior pericardiectomy. Dr. Jett was confident and took his time explaining what he planned to do. He followed up with me in the hospital both days and patiently answered my questions. The results have been amazing, with full return to all activities in less than 12 weeks! I highly recommend Dr. Jett and the robotic surgery approach for radical pericardiectomy- the risks are less and outcome is far better (in research 75% of patients live beyond 10 years, versus 50% with open approach) than the open approach (I've now had both) for constrictive pericarditis. Thank you Dr. Jett!!
