Dr. Schiffman is arrogant & Condescending
Don’t waste your time with him or his office staff. They don’t return your calls. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Everyone points the finger at someone else they tell you they will get you the right equipment but never do. Dr. Schiffman does not know what companies they use for the CPAP machines and asks the patients for information he should get from his staff. I wasted days, months, and over a year trying to get this straightened out and have finally decided that he is not worth it. I still don’t have the proper equipment that he said I needed in April. His attitude is terrible and he does not value his patients. I have found another doctor so I will not have to deal with any of them again.

I would have given zero stars if that were an option. Without delving into the nightmare we experienced at the hands of Dr. Schiffman, I will say that when our son was at Mission Hospital in ICU with a severe traumatic brain injury, Dr. Schiffman demonstrated arrogance, lack of compassion, ignorance of our son's actual medical condition, and inattentiveness at the most sacred and critical time in a family's journey. If he had demonstrated medical competency to deal with the specific situation we were facing, I could forgive some of the aforementioned faults. That was not the case. He is the last physician I would ever want to see if my family was experiencing any kind of crisis.

My experience was excellent, and Dr. Schiffman’s care was extraordinary while caring for my son Paul at Mission Hospital: June 5, 6, & 7, 2019. I will be forever grateful for his kindness, diligence, and thoroughness.

Very disappointing. I was kept waiting a long time in patient room. I asked him if he'd read the records I had brought in. He said no, it's too much work. Luckily I reprinted them and brought them in. He seemed irritated that he had to read them. Then complained that I hadn't done the report properly. He said I should have gone oldest to newest instead of newest to oldest. It went on like this. On the way out the staff agreed with me about the attitude and told me there are better doctors there.

I have been a patient with Dr. Schiffman for 25 years. Dr. Schiffman has been a tremendous asset to me over the years as I have maneuvered through many asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia issues. He has always been invested in getting me healthy and has talked me through the education of my health issues and helped me understand the causes and affects, which has limited my episodes. He is a very kind man and always been generous with his time.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Schiffman. He has been treating me for the past two years after I had a spot show up on my lung on my chest x-ray and follow-up scans. I am so grateful to Dr. Schiffman....he could not be any more approachable, knowledgeable and quick to order necessary tests and treatments. I felt very comfortable with him from the first time I met him in his office. I would absolutely refer him to any of my friends or family!

Dr. Schiffman has been my pulmonologist for the past six years. My level of care is excellent. My asthma is well controlled and have not needed to use a rescue inhaler for years. Dr. Schiffman closely monitors my sleep apnea insuring that the apnea effects have been minimized. He takes the time to intently listen to all my questions and concerns answering all my issues completely. I have recommended Dr. Schiffman to several of my friends and they are equally pleased.

Approximately seven years ago, I was enthusiastically referred to Dr. Schiffman for the possible treatment of Sleep Apnea. I had previously met with two other physicians. His easy to comprehend review of my diagnosis, treatment options, plus the goods-and-bads was outstanding. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and a year later with Degenerative Disc Disease, plus two other chronic conditions. He has been so informative and empathetic during my appointments with him.

While he's probably competent in his field, I find him quite arrogant, full of himself and rude. He is a poor listener, jumps to conclusions, does not pay attention to details (i.e. when writing orders for tests), he drives his own agenda. He is always in a hurry, not present for the appointments and is difficult to schedule appointments with. I also feel that he orders unnecessary tests for conditions which are not present, based on his own bias.
