Dr. Ginger Henson, MD

I have a treatment alliance with Dr. Henson in managing my facial tremors. She is exceptional.

I just had an appointment with her today and found her not to be like she was on my previous visit (several years ago). I clearly have a meibomian gland issue in my right eye and she said she couldn't see it. There is no way she could have missed it. I'm disappointed that I need brow surgery instead of eye lifts. Unfortunately, I can't give her high marks.

6 months ago I had eyelid surgery for droopy eyelids. The problem was taken care, but created other issues. I now have vertical lines at the inner corners of both eyes and one eyebrow is now lower than the other. Everyday I look at these issues and it's very depressing. I would NOT recommend.

It was a very good medical experience. She made the experience pleasant.

Dr Henson performed a skin graft just below one eye. She did a beautiful job. You can’t even see it! She has also performed other treatments around my eyes, and I’m telling you, she is an artist! I’ve recommended Dr Henson to many of my friends.

Dr. Henson was absolutely wonderful at reconstructing my lower eye lid from Basel cell carcinoma. Unfortunately it came back a 2nd time and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do it but her. She’s very kind and caring and wonderful at her job. I wanted a woman to reconstruct my lower lid because I felt they’d be more conscientious of the outcome. I would highly recommend her and her staff along with all of the OR staff at Cincinnati Eye Institute. I’ve have had nothing but a wonderful experience every time I’ve had surgery or for a check up. For 2 years, I have been seeing Dr. Henson for idiopathic chronic eye spasms. She ALWAYS asks about the effectiveness of my previous treatment, carefully listens to my response, observes and checks my eye, and then discusses the next treatment based on the information gained. On my most recent visit, Dr. Henson noticed an ingrown eyelash. Despite being an unscheduled procedure and the end of a Friday's work, she quickly offered to remove it...and did! Thus is Dr. Henson- intelligent, caring, intuitive, and meticulous in her work.

Dr. Henson was very attentive and listened to my pre-operative concerns. Her post surgical follow up was very reassuring. I am very pleased with the results of my bilateral lower blepharoplasty.

Dr Henson isn't someone I'll ever see again after my first and last surgery with her. Stay very far away if she gets it in her head to change her mind. She will without any explanation or warning. I ask her what she'll be doing during said eyelid surgery, she states X to myself and my mom. Go into the OR 5 minutes later and does Y without stating this while I'm fully aware/conscious and talking to her. I'm having a full blown conversation with her about when she's expecting her firstborn. Even after the surgery she doesn't say she changed her mind, I get an eye infection another eye doctor has to fix 2 hours after the surgery. Maybe you'll have better luck with her but I sure didn't.

Beware. I was charged $600 for a consultation after being referred by my CEI eye surgeon, who did not charge anything for his consultation. He is an excellent surgeon and I have had a wonderful experience. After my consultation, I continually called and emailed Dr. Henson's office for results with no return phone calls or email after receiving the $600 bill. It was only after I complained to my CEI surgeon that I received a phone call saying they were still working on it. I would not trust someone who bills you $600 for a consultation. That should have been told upfront. I would not recommend Dr. Ginger Henson.

I knew exactly what was going on at all times. Explanations were precise and easy to understand. She is very good at what she does.

I have never had this much difficulty with an office staff. The initial visit went well. I ended up canceling my first surgery date due to a letter from my insurance. They required more information. I left messages with numerous people including managers. No one called back. I got approval 20 days after my original date. I then scheduled. A month out I started calling to get my surgery packet knowing I needed a physical. No return calls again. Got the packet two weeks prior. Noticed I did not have post op appointment. Tried to schedule, but told they would do it at surgery. That didn’t happen, wanted me to call when I got home. The staff is the most unresponsive group, with the exception of the fervent billing staff. Surgery staff was excellent. My end is not what I expected. I still have a fold of tissue hanging down on me eyelid. I am not satisfied with my results. Lack of communication has left me probably needing more surgery in the future.
