I would NOT recommend Dr. Schackel. I felt that my condition had resolved prior to my appt but I kept the appt for confirmation. He did not do a complete examination of ears, nose, and throat, and stated it appeared my condition had resolved and yet suggested on in office procedure of putting a small hole in my ear and this would guarantee the problem would be resolved. And all of this in 10 minutes. Then I was charged for a new patient consultation even though I had seen him before. Doesnt sound like quality healthcare to me.

I was experiencing hormonal issues and was referred to Dr. Schackel. It took a month or so to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait. The office employees/nurses were wonderful and I was seen by Dr. Schackel, he was very kind and helpful. He set me up to have a parathyroid removed. He did an amazing job and you can't even see my scar. I was impressed and still am.

I do not recommend SW CO ENT. I am a patient and their office is refusing me service. I saw Dr Schackel in March 2018 for a sore throat. He quickly and correctly diagnosed me with HPV caused squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil and recommended I do highly invasive neck dissection surgery the following Tues and then photon radiation and chemotherapy. I sought other opionons and discovered that even with surgery, I would still need radiation and chemo. I also discovered the less invasive proton radiation but not available in Colorado. So I went to the Seattle Proton Center and got full AMA approved treatments. Now I need my 3 month follow up appointment, and SW CO ENT is refusing service. My Seattle doctors wisely recommended I not travel to Seattle in the height of Covid 19 pandemic. They suggested to do a simple scoping of my throat with a local Colorado ENT doctor. I called SW Co ENT many times over a 10 day period to get an appointment. Today the nurse finally call me but then said

I am a teacher, with limited free days for appointments. I have scheduled 2 different appointments with Dr. Schackel, many weeks in advance, and BOTH times he has cancelled, only a few days before the appointment. This is very unprofessional.

Went in with a bad case of Hyperacusis Tinnitus. Was told the only thing they could do was provide a referral to a neuropsycologist. I waited A FULL WEEK suffering for the referral to call, but they never did. I called the office back after a week and they had the wrong prefix for their fax. When asked if they could make sure the doc received the fax, I was told "our staff is very busy" and that they don't have time to call other doctors. I am still suffering at their pleasure. Join me!
