Dr. Heather Butler, MD

I have had many dermatologists in my years and though all were good doctors, Dr Butler may be my favorite. I have never felt rushed or not heard by her. She always shows respect for my concerns regardless of how minor they might truly be. She is timely in returning calls when needed and makes a concerted effort to make contact, even if it takes more than one call. I have never had a long wait during an appt, which is more than I can say for many past doctors. Her staff is always warm and friendly. In difference to other doctors, she has never encouraged cosmetic procedures despite my suggestion thereof, (which I know are major revenue sources for Dermatologists in today's world of cost cutting insurance companies). As stated in the first sentence of this review, she is my favorite in some fifty years of visiting Dermatologists, which is saying a lot about her character and the character of her office. Five stars in my book.

I visited Dr. Heather Butler earlier this year for a rash on my foot. I expressed concerns of the cause being fungal related, however she assured me that it was in fact eczema. She prescribed a steroid and Betamethasone Dipropionate, and advised me not to use soap on the area. This was HARMFUL advice. My condition got much worse, and months later I sought a second opinion as I started having doubts about Dr. Butler’s diagnosis. The other dermatologist confirmed this was fungal, and recommended to cease my current treatment and being using an over-the-counter solution, which has been working successfully. Dr Butler gave me not only incorrect, but harmful advice, and delivered the advice with such confidence that made me believe I did not have to worry. I will not be going back to Dr. Butler, nor can I in good faith recommend her.

Dr. Butler is always courteous and explains what is going on with my health. She listens and offers honest feedback with options best suited for me based on my needs. She is respectful and takes her time with me. My results following her treatments has always been positive. I recommend her to anyone with cystic acne or Alopecia. She has been helping me for the past three years without me having to spend a lot of money; my insurance covers everything.
