Worst oncologist!!!
Stay clear of Arango!!! My mom was recommended Arango after her uterine cancer diagnoses. He removed her uterus and told her she was in the clear and that her cancer had not spread. Well, it turned out he misdiagnosed her and instead of starting her on chemo right away after surgery he started radiation. She waisted valuable time on radiation and her cancer spread to her liver. She kept complaining to him about shoulder and abdominal pain at every appointment but he dismissed her concerns, claiming it was a side effect of radiation. A nurse at a different clinic ordered a CT scan of her abdomen where they discovered her cancer had spread. Arango’s office received the results and didn’t even reach out to my mom. We had to call his office to make an appointment where he basically told her she was going to die. He is the most incompetent and unsympathetic oncologist. Again stay clear of Arango and go to Moffitt to increase your chances of beating cancer!!

Best of the best !
After a year of ignoring a pain I had I finally went to my OBGN and she discovered a mass on my ovary. She sent me to De Arrango for a consultation. I knew if it was cancer I was going to listen to the specialist because he knows what he’s doing. We sat down with my results and he went over everything with my husband and I. He asked if I had any questions and he answered them with professionalism and grace. He was to the point of what needed to be done and I loved that he was like that. I’m a to the point person and realistic. I wanted what needed to be done to get done so I would be back on the road to recovery and my normal life. Dr Arrango did just that , he went in got all infected areas out and I was very thankful for that. My recovery time took a while but it was well worth it. He also had me do a few infusion treatments just to insure the slate was clean. I am now going on my recheck appts every few months and my tests have come back perfectly fine. Very happy with him!

Dr. Arango saved my life over 10 years ago. I had advanced cancer and because of Dr. Arango and Dr. Brooks (radiologist) aggressive treatment, I am still here today. I am not going to say it was easy, the treatment was worse than the disease, only because they caught it before the pain got real bad...

I wish I could give him 0 stars, please don't go with him, he will tell you that you are going to die and won't help you with ANYTHING, he does not answer the questions and is RUDE! That is the last thing we need in these situations.

Big ego. Wouldnt give me tests I was asking for. Sent me home to die! Released me as a patient because he couldnt figure out what was wrong with me. Second opinion showed my condition was treatable with medication and there are more options for me for my cancer. Very rude, time to retire old man! No compassion! and wrong diagnosis!

Dr. Arango is an excellent doctor. He’s treated me for stage 3 ovarian cancer for the last three years. He’s a great surgeon and his treatment protocols have prolonged and improved the quality of life. His office staff and nurses are all amazing. They’re professional, knowledgeable and caring. I’m very grateful to have such excellent care.

The staff is incompetent! Don’t waste your time and go to Moffitt. They can handle your insurance, disability and your disease. Dr Arango’s staff should be more prepared to deal with claims. Just don’t waste your time and money.

I told them I needed to heal a bit more before my body could handle more pain I tried to reschedule for August and the staff is making me waste my time and money to see the dr again if I reschedule for Aug . When I was first diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2008, Dr.A was my first doc. 4 oncologists later due to moving he was the most competent trustworthy doctor I’ve had. I was 32 . From the first appointment to my last was heart breaking and at times funnier than hell. I still deal with cancer on a constant basis due to Cowdens syndrome. I’d give anything to have him in control of this part of my healthcare again. I’m a veteran, and in the hands of the va system now. That’s horrifying.

Wish I could leave zero stars. He has doomed my mother. Referred to him after uterine cancer diagnosis. He refused to perform surgery due to my moms heart valves even though she was cleared by her cardiologist. Referred her for radiation treatment telling us that if it didn't work we could ultimately do surgery. This was a complete lie. Radiation damages your tissue so badly it becomes impossible to remove it and there is so much collateral damage. He views older women as disposable. Steer clear

Professional, competent and informative - without using what I would call "scare tactics". He made what could have been an extremely stressful time simple and relatively easy, especially because I trust him. Office staff is also very responsive and courteous. I'd HIGHLY recommend Dr. Arango to others!!

I had been without healthcare insurance since 2010, and was recently unemployed due to health issues, which turned out to be ovarian cancer! I was told to get insurance fast - just enough to cover the necessary surgery and chemo needed. It was close to $400 per month and I was already struggling. Now, almost two years later - due to a recent ER visit - HE REFUSES to see me because I didn't continue treatment after the chemo! I WAS UNINSURED! This says VOLUMES about him as a doctor... SAD.

Dr. Arango's care, knowledge and abilities are Excellent. He has a kind bedside manner and explains what and why he is doing. Wait times in his office for anfppointments are minimal, demonstrating he values patients time too. His ARNP is anfppointments so excellent, as are his nursing staff. Highly recommend Dr. Arango.
