Emergency surgery
I had an emergent open fracture that required immediate surgery. Dr. Degroot did an excellent job with not only my surgery, but he made me feel as though i was his only patient. Competent, confident, a great human and great surgeon.

First Impression
Dr. DeGroot is friendly, straightforward and very knowledgeable about the anatomy of the knee. He sat down and explained everything about my knee in a language easy to understand. He was ready to answer any of my questions. I highly recommend him and will definitely go back to him when the time comes for my knee to be replaced.

I just saw Dr DeGroot regarding my need for special shoes and orthotics to correct lifelong foot issues. He was thorough in examining my feet and ankles, asking many questions about my symptoms. He listened carefully to my concerns. He is a good communicator and showed compassion and concern. He was resourceful in recommending deep shoes with orthotics to modify my balance when walking. I respect him and will recommend him to others.

Refereed for hip pain!
he was very friendly and took the time to explain everything thoroughly to me. The staff was great. He did a Cortizone injection into my hip and there was absolutely no pain which I thought was amazing and he did refer me to a hip surgeon.

Dr. Degroot treated me for issues concerning a knee surgery followup when other orthopedic doctors refused to even consult with me. His counsel and a simple in-office procedure alleviated pain, provided mobility, and allowed me to continue the adventure of sailing around the world. This is a doctor with compassion.

What a delightful doctor! And he had to put injections of cortisone into my wrists...not fun. But he did it with kindness and great care, and has truly helped my carpal tunnel. Already made another appointment for a different issue. Lucky to have an orthopedic ace in Key West.

Worst doctor ever. I was in trrrible pain and he told me I was out of shape (no kidding, I have a disability preventing me from normal activities) which was the reason for my shoulder injury and told me to look up exercises on the web to get better. He barely examined me and sat down in a chair comparing me to a car that gets worse with age. What kind of doctor tells a patient to use the internet instead of seeking professional help. A discredit to his profession.!!!
