Waste of time
I've had him as my provider for the last 3yrs. I went to him with complaints of severe pain and inflammation. He did not examine me nor provide solutions or medication but he did feel the need to mention that I did NOT need to see a rheumatologist. I found it odd but I didn't dig. My pain was getting worse so I saw a specialist who did tests and guess what? He strongly suggested I see a rheum and referred me. Low and behold I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and immediately placed on meds. This last time I went to see him for continued bladder pain following a uti. He said his test ruled out a uti and when I asked what could the pain mean his educated answer was 'I don't know.' He again offered no solutions or answers and said a urologist wouldn't see me unless I was peeing blood. He then asked me about my asthma I said it's fine and has been stable for a few yrs. He goes 'I want to see you for your asthma every 6mo.' So ur a pulmonologist now? I will not go to him ever again.

Dr. Patel is Useless
The worse experience I've had with a Doctor. He did not make the appointment comfortable nor did he address my medical condition as a caring doctor would. I felt insulted from my last two appointments. Instead of trying to help me with my condition he wanted to blame me for it. John Muir needs to train their doctors to on how to be compassionate and respectful!

I saw Dr. Patel once. My first and only appointment with him was terrible. He didn't do any type of exam. No blood pressure, didn't listen to my heart, lungs, or any other exam a doctor usually does when they see their patients, especially new ones. He spoke with me for about 5 minutes and then left. He didn't ask for family medical history or anything. Dr. Patel is a horrible doctor!

I really like Dr Patel--since changing to him as a doctor my health has improved 100%--not all him, but he did take me off of unneeded medication and that motivated me to find ways to improve my health without meds.

I saw Dr Patel concerning severe pain in my throat and ear on the right side. Dr Patel did not address the problem and advised me to come back in 3 months. I then made an appointment with an ENT Doctor who diagnosed my problem as a MASS located in my pharnyx. I had surgery and was lucky the mass was benign. If it had been cancer the 3 months could have been fatal as head and neck cancers are extremely critical as far as time diagnosis. I would not recommend Dr Patel to anyone.

He tried to get my aunt on anti-depressants because, she's old and will be losing her friends at this age and get depressed. He never ran tests when she complained of her ribs hurting and said it was a pulled muscle. Turns out she had lung cancer that spread fast to her bones. He guessed at my sisters description of what was going on with her many ailments. Dr. Patel said she had to take a blood and urine test, but never ran the tests. He lies to his patients. This doctor is a joke.
