Dr. Ida Alul, MD

My surgery outcome was very bad. My vision is worse than before. Constant irritation, debilitating dryness. My eyes require daily application of very expensive prescription meds, $300 a month, with insurance coverage, that merely take the edge off dryness and discomfort. I also use over the counter eyedrops almost constantly. I can no longer travel by plane, forcing me to give up my retirement dream, which I had planned and saved for. Have to be careful about going outdoors and hiking, previously my daily exercise. Just took a weekend trip and was in daily pain even with meds. Choosing Dr Alul was the biggest medical mistake of my life. I realize this is not everyone's experience, but it sure was mine.

Cataract surgery, although common, naturally cause some trepidation in those of us who have made the decision to have it. I chose InFocus for this procedure after interviewing both local providers. Dr Alul did my pre-surgery exams and cataract surgery; coordination of the various pre- and post-surgery activities and procedures was handled by their surgery coordinator, Courtney. I had a great experience and a great result. I was 73 at the time and my cataracts were quite cloudy and caused un-correctible astigmatism. I chose a monovision approach (distance in one eye, reading in the other), and am delighted that I can do everything I need to without glasses. And the brightness and clarity of light and colors are simply amazing. I will wear glasses for nighttime driving and for working at the computer, which is expected and normal (replacement lens are fixed in focus). Dr. Alul was wonderful to deal with: consistently cheerful and professional, patient with my many pre-surgery quest

I was very happy with everything about Dr. Alul's practice -- skillful and committed staff, good facilities, and most of all Dr. Alul herself, who was not only a skilled practitioner but also a good team leader (everyone seemed to be well trained and respected), and a doctor who kept me well informed, encouraged my questions, and addressed all my concerns. Such a breath of fresh air after the opposite experience with my previous eye surgeon.

Refused to come to Emergency Room for my serious eye problem. May have effected outcome!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Dr. Alul, Rachel, and the rest of the team who helped with my Lasik procedure in January. My husband and I are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail which we started at the beginning of April. I have been able to see everything through my eyes clearly and it has been great. No need to worry about glasses and contacts while having dirty hands or losing either. I was just hoping to share with everyone what I am able to see now and clearl...

The eye drops have been difficult to keep straight. Besides that, Dr. Alul and the Bend Surgery Center have been great. Dr. Alul has a soothing voice and she calmed all of my fears. And Courtney (the surgery coordinator) has been wonderful.

Dr. Alul did my cataract surgery a few weeks ago and I've been very happy.

Dr. Alul screened me for LASIK last June. She and her staff were extremely professional and I’d never had an eye exam near that thorough and felt confident. The procedure was very quick and a great success. I will recommend Dr. Alul to anyone needing eye care.

Dr. Alul got my eyesight back to what I remember as a young man! The lens exchange was perfect. The glasses that I had worn for 15 years went in trash!! It is one of the best things to happen I my life! Thank You Dr. Alul !!

I cannot recommend Dr. Alul enough. I tell everyone to go see her! She's so warm and caring. She spends the time to make sure you understand everything and get every question answered. She's very thorough and really knows what she's talking about. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the best medical offices I’ve been to.

Dr. Alul was so kind and wonderful. It's rare to find a surgeon with a good bedside manner and good skill. She has both! I was so pleased with my exam, she found things that were missed by previous eye doctors. I was 15 minutes late also and instead of being turned away, the front desk receptionist was empathetic to my situation (car trouble) and asked if she could do anything to help. I will be recommending her to all of my friends and family, especially to my Mom who needs cataract surgery

Great experience! Explained things very well.

She is too busy, mumbles very fast and out she goes. The office staff are great, no wait until you have to wait for Dr. Alul. Then it gets to be too uncomfortable having to wait so long. You send 45 minutes to an hour waiting for her and she buzzes in looks at your eyes, mumbles rapidly and away she goes. I marked the long wait only because it's Dr. Alul you have to wait so long to see.

Dr Alul is very good at taking care of her patients. She is compassionate and deeply aware of how her patients are feeling. She did an amazing job at removing my husband's cataract. My husband is excited about getting his other eye taken care of in May. I highly recommend Dr Alul.
