Dr. Irina Bernescu, MD

I am so happy to have Dr. Bernescu as my doctor. She is very professional and knowledgeable. She also is personable and listens to my concerns. My most recent visit is the same as all the last several years visits, very satisfied with my appointment and examine. I feel comfortable and at ease. She goes above and beyond making sure I receive the most complete examine and have my questions answered. I would highly recommend Dr. Bernescu!

My experence with Dr. Bernescu was nothing more than traumatizing. Her bedside manner is nonexcistant & the word 'care' isn't in her vocabulary. My experience has a lot of inexcusable details, one of which I will share. While Dr. Bernescu was performing an examination on me, she took a surgical tool & stabbed a small abscess on my bottom. I had no warning & wasn't expecting her to hurt me. I yelled out of pain & shock. She then leaves the room, comes back & told me that I 'triggered her vertigo'. She made me feel shame for my human reaction on purpose. She couldn't get the facts of my case straight, seems like she never check my chart before seeing me BOTH times, I never got phone calls from her office when scheduled ( I had to call her office) & she also never showed up for my Telehealth appt & I had to call the office myself to track her down for my appointment. Her demeanor is nothing short of a toxic, narcissistic person.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Bernescu today. She was kind, clear, and thorough in explaining the procedure, risks, and recovery plan for both the growth my gastroenterologist found during my colonoscopy and my external hemorrhoid. What stood out to me was that I never felt judged—a big concern that can keep a lot of people, especially men, from seeking the care they need. The entire team, including Megan, the nurse, and Hope at the front desk, made me feel comfortable and well cared for. I highly recommend Dr. Bernescu and her team.

Completely horrible & violating experience. No concern for the patient at all

The surgery was fine. However, she sent my Father in law in his late 80s home who was suffering from delirium due to anesthesia, without advising his sons caretakers/healthcare proxies this could happen or that it did happen. Nor were his sons informed of what to do. My Father in law was literally in the bathroom asking his caretaker child what to do at each step from pulling his pants down through washing his hands. It was horrifying for this elder man and even more horrific for his caretaker children who had now warning or clue this could happen or what to do about it. He needed to stay in the hospital longer or be transferred to rehab until he could perform ADL tasks not sent home without instructions sufferings from delirium. This was unconscionable and bordered on not providing informed consent prior to the operation.

Dr. Bernescu, md., is a highly skilled & talented colo rectal surgeon. On 05/05/2016 I was diagnosed with the "C" word. She had me into surgery 15 days later. I had to loose a rectal tumor and 16 feet of colon & I was left with a Temp Illeostomy. The Illeostomy has remained with me as a permanent fixture becuase I'm to afraid of the "C" returning & having to get another Illeostomy or Colostomy so I just kept " Trixxy" I have followed all of her instructions to a "T" & I haven't had one issue with my Illeostomy or had to have a revision whatsoever. I cant believe what a skilled surgeon she is & a blessing at such a difficult time in my life. Please if you use Dr. Bernescu follow every single rule or direction given to you & you will not have any problems or additional surgeries. Dr. Bernescu I hope you are able to read this review & know I'm greatful everyday for saving my life. Now I have that second chance to see my children who were 3yo & 8yo which are now 8yo & 13yo grow up.

She did my Colerectal Surgery. Her pre-op and post-op care was excellent. She kept me informed about my condition and more importantly, encouraged me during a very difficult time.

From my first meeting with Dr. Bernescu, I felt very comfortable. She explained my test results and what type of surgery needed to be done. She is very professional yet at the same time, very caring. I would definitely recommend her to family and friends. No surgery is pleasant but having confidence and feeling comfortable with your doctor, makes it much easier.
