He's incompetent!
Calhoun did a laminectomy on my 28 year old daughter. He destroyed her facet joint. She walked into surgery but never walked again. She has horrible, constant pain from damaged nerves. She had an active life filled with horseback riding and raising cattle. Now she's in a wheelchair. Our last office visit I asked the tough questions and all he did was stand there, with his arms crossed, staring at the floor. He NEVER made eye contact with us. That told me a lot about his character, or lack thereof.

He should never be allowed to touch anybody. After he operated on me I could not turn my head right, left, or look down, going on four years now. I lost my ability to work and my career. I've been in constant pain for four years and have to take narcotics every day. Driving is difficult and every day is just a pathetic existence from start to finish. I have to lie down several times a day. He made me so much worse than before the surgery. I had a medical specialty and a job that I loved to do and was doing every day. He did what paid him the most and not what I needed. He told me nothing goes wrong with the level below the one he operated on which I said corresponded to the symptoms I was having. Big liar. I didn't need pain medicine before the surgery and after I need narcotics every day all day. Going on four years now. Nobody could fix what he did. He does not care at all about the patient. Only his bank account. He definitely did his part to make Arkansas the worst state for health

Dr Calhoun placed a small capacity pain pump, when my pain Dr requested a large capacity pump. He didn't tell them, & they expected the large when I went to get it filled. He didn't tell me that I wouldn't have feeling over the pump. The 4 surgical incision sites have large lumps of scar tissue, whereas previous surgeries left none. The postop pain med didn't work, & he wouldn't order anything else, leaving it up to my pain Dr. As an RN, I've never seen a surgeon pawn pain control onto another Dr.

GET ANOTHER OPINION!! He left me in constant pain going on three years now. I didn't have constant pain before the operation or need pain medication. Now narcotics all day long. Increasing dosages needed as time goes by. I scream and cry "WHY?!" hundreds of times a day. I can't work and can barely drive. I have to lie down for several hours every day and can't stay upright for very long. I never was able to work again after being able to work full time at my medical specialty before the surgery. He showed no caring or concern for my condition that he put me in. For him it's all about how much money and how many cases he can rush through in a day. He knows the lawyers can only call it a bad outcome and not sue him. He left me in so much worse condition than before he hurt(operated on) me. Nobody can fix what he did. My existence is pathetic now. If he ever had any skill he doesn't now. He will operate for any reason he can. You will know why AR has the worst med. care ratings in US.

He performed my back surgery and then misdiagnosed that I had a blood clot. He said it was nerve pain. I ended up staying in ICU for 3 days and I am now on oxygen due to the damage from the blood clot. He almost cost me my life.. Please stay away from this dr if you want to stay alive.

I have degenerative disc disease and have had to have 3 disc replaced in my neck and Dr Calhoun is my surgeon and I think he has done an amazing job I had one disc fixed in 2014 and the other two he just fixed a few weeks ago. He is an excellent surgeon and very friendly and he really has a great bedside manner I would definitely recommend him to anybody that's needs a neurosurgeon. He also has the most friendly staff and the hospital is the best too. I would recommend this hospital too.
