The waste of my time
Barely looked at me during the visit, told me my pain was not that bad, gave me a splint and told me to go home.. Looking for another orthopedic doctor. Don’t waste your time. He was not even interested in my history or talking about my problem.

He diagnose the wrong body part. Will never go to him again. And it’s on my patient chart the correct body part! But he was terse and rude and insisted that I was wrong.

I was diagnosed with keinbocks disease in my wrist 7 yrs ago by my primary physician. After seeing several different wrist doctors in Reno(maybe all but him) with no answers or action I ended up having surgery at UC Davis. Then a friend recommended Dr. Christensen. The very first appointment I knew he was the one I wanted treating me. Very knowlegable and great bedside manner. I have had 3 surgeries with him and several injections. His staff is amazing. Not looking forward to his retirement:(

7 years ago, Dr. Christiansen performed surgery for tendinitis. I am very satisfied with the results of that surgery and ensuing therapy at ROC. For the past few months, I have been experincing pain in my right hand, two trigger fingers, etc. I saw Dr Christiansen yesterday, and was diagnosed with tendinitis, this time in. My hand, as well as arthritis in my large thumb joint. He gave me two injections of cortisone as well as a brace for my thumb. I am already feeling relief from the pain.

My positive exposure and interaction with ROC physicians began after I came to Reno in 1974 when I was seen by Drs Herz, Sargent, Teipner , Halvorson and later Greenwald and Shonnard. I have seen Dr. James Christensen for all my hand and wrist issues for a number of years and can attest to his surgical skills and overall patient oriented commitment. Sincerely, John Busse.

Does not talk to you about issues you are having, especially if it involves pain management. Openly states that he doesn't want to end up like Dr. Rand. Interrupts when you are asking questions. Rarely looks you in the eye, very rude which I could get past if he answered questions and listened. I expressed concern re: severe pain I am having (4 wks after accident/surgery), he shrugged and said uh huh. I had to reach out to another medical professional for my answers.
