POOR bedside manner, hurried, rude!
Mr. Napier arrived a full hour late, seemed hurried and rushed, AND was very inattentive to my concerns! He had a very poor bedside manner, unfriendly and dismissive of my health concerns. He claimed I was misdiagnosed AFTER commenting that the neurologist who originally diagnosed me (who is an Autonomic specialist) is an, 'Excellent ' neurologist. Utterly disgusted and thoroughly dissatisfied with this so-called doctor! Being a 100% disabled combat vet, I think better is deserved for my life-threatening health concerns!

UNSATISFIED VETERAN! – Dec 21, 2024

Careless, Dismissive, Incompetent!
My husband is a 100% disabled veteran, with the diagnosis of Automatic Dysreflexia from hours of testing by a leading neurologist in the field. We were transferring care because our specialists had moved. During our visit, Mr Napier was an hour late. Pretended to do an exam, which looked like he was a 2year old playing doctor. He spent maybe 5mins with us asking about history and as soon as he heard it, he stopped everything and said my husband was misdiagnosed by the leading specialists, whom he had just praised for his work. He dismissed the recent brain fog and heart stopping and refused to answer any questions and said just see a counselor. This kind of incompetent can lead to life threatening complications and affect our lives dramatically!

EMG testing
I was seen ahead of my appt. time. He was very efficient and explained what he was doing. He talked and distracted me so I wasn't able to anticipate the pain and I didn't feel it as much. Very quiet but polite.

Do NOT recommend Napier AT ALL
Luckily we didn’t listen to Dr. Napier (our son has now been diagnosed with MS by his primary dr…who then referred us to an MS Specialist, Dr. Ahmed in Milwaukee) Our 18 year old had a CT scan, blood work, and an EEG for slurred speech, weakness, tingling, & numbness in his right arm, and dizziness/lightheadedness. According to Dr. Napier - there was nothing he saw. We could get a 2nd opinion, but Dr. Napier stated condescendingly that they would tell us the same thing. When we asked what he recommended from here, because something was wrong, he spoke his notes into his phone app right in front of us (to prove there was nothing wrong). When we asked again, what to do from here, he said if we really thought something was still wrong to call his primary dr. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE…NEVER have I been spoken to by a Dr. like this - Rude & cocky…and COMPLETELY WRONG with his lack of further tests!

Not good. I agree with other patient who said he treats you like an idiot and thinks he’s God. I’m sure he made my condition worse resulting in surgery. I would never recommend him.

Not a good "bedside" manner..not friendly, didn't spend enough time with me, didn't review test results sufficiently, ordered unnecessary expensive tests, did not call back with results until over a month later, after I threatened to complain to the hospital administer. Am still waiting on one more result..

I had balance problem and he confirmed that I had a hydrocephalus(?) condition. He did all the preliminary work and then met with me before and after the surgery. It has been 5 years and because of him I have been blessed with an extended quality life. Chuck Gustafson

This is a wonderful Dr. When you call and schedule an appt there is a receptionist named Candy or something along those lines that does not know what she is doing and will argue with you. That's the only bad thing.

Chronic Headache in Green Bay – Apr 10, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Napier Jr?
If I could do half a star I would. Diagnosed me with epilepsy even though I've never had a seizure and my EEG and MRI showed up as completely normal. Started me on a med that could give me epilepsy if I didn't have it. I'm not allowed to drive for 3 months now even though I don't have seizures. Nice guy, just frustrated by my diagnosis that is unnecesary.

I I had a terrible experience with this provider. He was derogatory, and did not listen to me. I have been a patient of neurology doctors for decades which leads me to believe he did not read my history before my appointment. Also prescribed some European device which no insurance covers, which showed on my med list. This provider should retire.

The vital felt piece of information he felt we must know was he had studied at Yale. Mumbled badly, barely intelligible, running in and out of the room. First he says my husband’s problems are all “up here”, (points to his head). Do you mean the cortex? I ask. Are you a nurse? (I'm a female doctor.) He joked about my being able to get another husband. After I read from my cell phone that a brain lesion like this causes similar symptoms he says it is causing symptoms. No EEG, no electromyogram.

This guy is an absolute horror. Doesn't have time to talk to patients or answer any questions. As an MS sufferer of 16 years, I've never met a Neurologist who couldn't care less about the patients well-being. Wound up being hospitalized for a week because he didn't have time, or even care, about what I had to say about my severe MS relapse! Turns out he didn't know Everything, or Anything, about me & my disease. Went to the Emergency Room to handle my health myself.....guess what? I was right!!!

I would recommend Dr. Napier to everyone. He is the most knowledgeable, helpful Dr we have had the opportunity of working with in treatment of my sisters M.S. many area dr telling her it's hopeless. So,so many Dr's dont get it. Dr Napier does. He is a Dr we trust before any other. And yes. Her M.S. is in remission. Which many dr said it would never be.
