Dr. Jared Kvapil, MD

Read my previous review first. We had to go to a PA because he cancelled on us. The PA then wanted us to come back to see the Dr. in 6 months (we had an appointment with the Dr. that they cancelled!)... so we wait six more months to see Dr. Kavpil, and then they cancel our appointment again!!! "Dr. Kavapil has a conference" or something like that. I had planned travel around this appointment. Fool me once.. I had asked for a different Dr. after the fisrt time, they insisted that I stay. We now have a new Dr.

I scheduled an appointment for my Mom to see Dr. Kvapil in April 2021 (I believe), first available was September, she had not seen him in person since prior to coved and had a tele health call in April 2020. I was to be out of town for the appointments so I arranged for my sister to come to visit at that time from CO to take her to this appointment. The week before the appointment they call to cancel because of a "change of schedule for Dr. Kvapil". I returned the call and was told the next availble appointment was March 2022 in St. Joeseph. MO (1 hour from our her). I complaingned that he cancelled our appointment, they needed to get us in. Nope, they didn't care. The only option I had was a PA or wait until six more months to see him in another city. I guess he can't work some additional hours to see the patients he cancelled on?

He came to see me in the hospital as a substitute for my doctor. I liked him right away and he changed a number of my medicines to help me deal with Afib, something that my current Dr. didn’t do, as I only saw him once a year, even though I had Afib hospital visits occurring. I have had no Afib problems since I have been in Dr. Kvapils care. I would definitely recommend him to any of my family or friends.

To be honest, I had one appointment and I will be switching to a different cardiologist (likely same practice). I did not get along with the doctor and believe he is not open to any alternative or holistic medicine or treatment options. My condition is not at all serious and I am in overall excellent health with good diet and exercise habits. it may turn out that big pharma is the only available treatment but I also believe that pills should not be the immediate and only option.

Appreciated the time Dr. Kvapil took to review records and ask questions. I had the feeling he was reserving comment and found information providing by referring doctors and myself somewhat incomplete. But he demonstrated great patience. I felt a little humble not knowing the answers, but he listened. Overall, I felt I was in presence of a considerate knowledgeable physician, striving to protect my health. I only wish I could have better expressed my concerns and constant pain.
