Dr. Liss closed the wound on my lower eye lid after MOHS surgery to remove a Basel cell. Before the surgery, I was very apprehensive about the residual visible appearance of my eye after the procedure. Just 2-1/2 weeks after the procedure the site of the incision is hardly visible and the contours and shape of my eye has been restored to normal. I am very happy with the results.

I choose Dr Liss because in one review I read that he listens to patients. I had the opposite experience. I drove to Raleigh the night before my appointment to be on time for my 8 am. I was there 15 minutes sooner. They took my temperature and asked me to wait in my car until they call me. I waited until 8.30 and since nobody called me,I went in. Front desk lady told me that they had not been informed about me and thanked me for not waiting longer. Although she explained to Dr. Liss that I drove from another city and have been on time, Dr. Liss refused to see me, saying that 6 patients are ahead of me (I don’t know how that is possible at 8:30 am). I drove long hours for this appointment and was on time and the Dr. Liss didn’t even care to talk to me. My rating is not based on his expertise but based on his disrespectful behavior. I didn’t reschedule with him as I like to have a doctor who cares about his patients and their time and more empathy and respect for them.

Excellent--I did not realize my eyes were being starved for light until my optometrist told me, but the difference in peripheral vision was immediately clear after the surgery, after which I adapted quickly.

Dr Liss and his staff were absolutely amazing from the time I met him in the surgery center to the most recent follow up. While the surgery was long and tedious, the work was amazing. Hardly any scarring and no post surgery issues. I would highly recommend Dr Liss and his staff for a surgery that is so close to the eyes.
