Dr. Jee Karl, MD

I went to Dr. Karl for three years and I had a terrible time with a long list of symptoms. She failed to diagnose my pancreatic cancer and didn't even look at my pancreas as a possible source of my chronic digestive/pancreatic issues, where I could not sleep at night due to burping excessively. She never referred me to another oncologist when my tumor markers were high repeatedly. She thought I should have my ovaries out, but the elevated tumor marker is used for pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis and other organs that are cancerous. She failed to look at the details of my medical history and was just lost without providing any guidance that could get to the root of my problem. I am so sad that she failed me as my life has been cut short due to late discovery of pancreatic cancer in an emergency room. She needs to get more training and I am following up with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Don't go to her, if you have a chronic, or persistent undiagnosed digestive issue.

Dr. Lee Karl has been my physician for over 3 years, and have been the most trusted physician I have encountered during my stay in Virginia. The time she spent analyzing my symptoms was well spent as she clarified what caused the symptoms, and how to overcome them. She provided medical options, and options outside medicine. During her busy day, sometimes I sense wonderful humorous personality. A knowledgeable doctor that answers all medical questions in a manner for me to understand.

Dr. Lee is by far the best GP and physician I have ever had (and I have been to plenty). She goes the extra mile for her patients and takes the time to understand all of my issues and symptoms. I’m a complex patient and she partners with my other specialists as well. She is up to date on latest treatments and researches information when she wants to know more. On top of that she is caring and compassionate. If I could put 10 stars I would.

DO NOT GO TO DR.LEE FOR LYME DISEASE! Dr.Lee misdiagnosed me with lyme disease! She put me through 7 months of antibiotics and my symptoms only got worse. I finally went to an infectious disease doctor (which is the type of doctor you should see if you think you have lyme or something like it) and he looked at the blood tests that she had done and used to diagnose me and it was very obvious to him that I did not have lyme at all. No one with lyme needs more than a month of antibiotics!

Dr Lee is a great Doctor. She takes her time and really meets you on a personal, friendly level. She's very responsive and seems to really be interested in knowing you. My wife now sees her as does my daughter and young toddler granddaughter. If you're looking for on- going care look here at her!

Dr. Lee is a calm, incredibly patient and thoughtful physician. She has a very soothing bedside manner and thoroughly answers any and all questions. She goes above and beyond and truly cares about her patients. I can't recommend Dr. Lee highly enough and have told many friends to go see her.

Dr. Lee has a great bedside manner: She LISTENS! She is not quick to give you a pill to fix all. She asks pointed questions to get to the root of the illness/problem. Then provide holistic recommendations with medication being the final solution. She was my doctor when she practiced at INOVA clinic. When she left the establishment, I was quick to follow.
