Wonderful, compassionate dr.
I was surprised by the bad reviews but realized most are old and mainly about his staff. Current staff is friendly, professional and efficient. My only complain would be waiting on hold extended time. Dr. Charnov is an excellent doctor. He listens, takes his time and offers solutions that work.

Bad Dr.
I had to transfer to Charnov because of ins. Before I came in to see him the 1st time he already decided who and what I was. He never came in the room. He immediatly started talking really bad about my previous Dr. He has a God complex. Then he told me he would not fill my prescription for pain and he was lowering my pain pump medication. 3rd. visit I was called a drug addict, I needed therepy and he was taking me off all medication including removing my pump by his assistant. You are treated badly by his staff. They act like they are doing you a favor. Pluus waiting 4 hours past your appointment time. I have multiple health problems all documented and he says its all in my head. My Rhumatologist and primary care are the ones who referred me to pain management over 20 years ago.

Great Doctor - Absolutely Awful Office Assistant
My wife loves Dr. Charnov. Because of him, she can walk pain-free. However, his scheduler/assistant is awful and treats us with disdain. After 15 years of treatments, we finally said goodbye -- solely because of his assistant. It's sad that Dr. Charnov doesn't even see these reviews and he won't fire that rude assistant. We'd go back in a heartbeat -- if his assistant was not there.

I have been going to Charnov and Veronica for years only because I have to have the meds for the pain I am in. Initially, the spinal injections he performed on me were helpful, but then they quit working. Their lack of consideration for patients' time is unforgivable. Today I had an appointment with Veronica the PA at 1:00. She was there and had no other patient before me yet I still had to wait 45 minutes because she was making phone calls during my time. It does seem that time should be blocked off to do that and not use my time. I talked to who I think was the practice manager about having to wait 45 to 75 minutes every single time. She told me outright that they purposely schedule that way, intending for patients to wait that long ... and this is a pain management office, where patients are hurting. I cannot imagine treating other people with such disrespect ... and charging them to do it.

I could barely walk with lower back nerve pain when I made my first visit with Dr. Charnov, after which I walked out pain-free and with a clear treatment path starting immediately. He is a miracle worker.

Most shocking behavior, no interest in helping me. Had his clerk see me instead. Perhaps because I am a Medicare patient he didn't want to waste his time. I cannot explain his dismissive unhelpful behavior. I would never go back and I would not recommend him to any one. I was not a candidate for expensive ongoing procedures and perhaps that is why he refused to see me. I wanted advice from him and information, I received none.

Dr. Charnov shows up 3 hours late for scheduled surgeries. Makes an excuse each time, yet all of the nurses know he will be late. One time, we were sitting next to someone who knew him from his Residency 30 years ago and she said he was always late then and is know for being late.

Office staff poor and disorganized..Had spinal fusion and was interested in future pain management options. After rudely being interviewed by PA ,I waited 45 minutes to see Doc..only when I opened the door to the hallway and flagged the Doctor diwn did his PA point out I was there. He told me what could go wrong in the future and how he would do injections. Really?! Not my opinion of a thoughtful man. Will NOT go back EVER!,,,

Dr.Charnov did not come across as a good doctor. His explanations were poor and disjointed. Some of his explanations were confusing, hard to understand and frankly questionable. I will not return for more treatments.

Dr Charnov is a FABULOUS doctor and has made a world of difference in my life. If you can get past the rude front office staff, you will find a fantastic "back of the house" to make you feel better. His front office staff is the most uncompassionate group of people I have ever met. The patients who go there are in pain and may not be operating at their best, and to be berated by the staff there is unbelievable! I have been party to and have witnessed several acts of unkindness.

My 67 year old grandmother has seen some results with this wonderful doctor. The assistant recently referred to my grandmother as a pill head in front of office staff and patients. She has had trouble with injections so she just wanted to see if there was an alternative. Helpful was SHE..NO! If you feel a patient is beneath you please refer them them out of your practice. This will be going a little further. Thank you for your help Dr. Charnov.

I was in miserable pain for five weeks first went to my orthopedic dr who recommended Dr Charniv after my MRI. Dr Charnive was very pricy and confident of the procedure to help me. He scheduled my injection procedure for the following morning! So far I'd say he's the BEST!!!
