He is the first stop when I have a health issue, and if he doesn't have the answer he doesn't hesitate to go another direction and send you to another physician. Thirty years ago, he was the only doc that worked with me in solving my insomnia problem. I have recommended him to all my friends

I have been seeing Dr. Goudreau for roughly 25 years. He communicates well, has referred me when necessary and once that led to a very early prostate cancer diagnosis and surgery, some 20 years ago now. I enjoy seeing him and would not know what to do if I wasn’t able to continue to seek his medical advice and outstanding health care. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Goudreau is great, but the administrative staff is terrible, and are penny pinchers. Went for an annual physical, the doctor asked me if anything had been bothering me, I answered the question, and they billed for this as a result. Highly recommend that you don't go here, and that you seek another provider. Terrible customer service and experience.

I made an appointment for my son back in August. He would be a new patient and was told Dr. Goudreau would not be able to see him till Dec. Fine, we made the appointment and waited. The afternoon before his appointment that was scheduled the next morning, my son received a call from his office cancelling his appointment because Dr. Goudreau was not seeing new patients. What?! I called back and had to wait till the next day to speak to his nurse. I explained the situation and that had we cancelled that late we would have received a late cancellation fee. I only got "I'm sorry"; no concern about the inconvenience of their actions or the unprofessionalism of their office. He was recommended by another doctor - he lost a patient.

Dr. Goudreau has been my physician for 12 years. He is very knowledgeable, if not opinionated. He can be flippant at times and really doesn't comment much on what you tell him. He makes very good referrals. He will not communicate directly with his patients unless you pay to go in and see him. Lab results are posted to a portal where they can be hard to interpret and no notification is given that results are posted. Sometimes he can appear to be afraid of catching something from a patient if he sees them for a certain condition. Even before Covid-19. I find this strange for a physician.

Dr. Goudreau is a very knowledgeable Physician. But comes across as flippant at times. He mainly operates his practice to fit his needs and quirks more than the patients. Sometimes appears to be worried about catching something from his patients. I find that to be strange for someone in his profession. Also, he will not communicate with you unless you go into his office and pay for a visit. Lab results are posted on a portal but sometimes no clear statement about what some of them mean. Kind of ambiguous.

How do you write a review that is condemning of a system that is corrupt, overly-bureaucratic, grinds up and burns out doctors, without condemning the doctor? That is the medical system here in the US and if you live long enough, that is Medicare. I went to Dr. Goudreau for the first time as a Medicare patient. I was just a number. That is not critical of him, but of the system that does not reimburse doctors like private insurance. If you want to make money as a primary care doc, you have to go volume. If you go volume, you just don't get the care and attention. His staff does not respond to any message I send through the "patient portal". I had an EKG during my physical that showed up on my portal as "abnormal". No one even mentioned it to me. I discovered it and sent a message through the portal asking what the deal was. Someone did respond and said it was "okay". I feel sorry for the man. He is burnt out, physically and mentally. It's time to retire Dr. Goudreau!
