I found Dr Lawson to be very knowledgeable about RA and lupus. He listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. The staff is friendly and the wait is minimal.

I was referred to him by Carolinas Pain Center. He told me that I have Systemic Lupus & he was going to start me on Prednisone. I told him I could not tolerate it due to side effects (EXTREME agitation). He then said he would start me on the lowest dosage (5 mg) and see if I could tolerate that. I agreed. He then said he would not be seeing me again; that Carolinas Pain Center would be treating the Lupus. Carolinas Pain does NOT treat Lupus, PLUS they said he never sent my diagnosis to them.

Had a first appointment with Dr Lawson. He's a man of many questions, actually, more questions regarding my health than I had answers. He was thorough, pleasant, and professional. I felt confidant that I made the correct decision in seeing him. Dr Lawson was highly recommended by my Optomologist, Primary Care physician, and a friend. I'm glad I listened.

Dr. Lawson might be very knowagable about RA. He is of the good old boy network but has an unprofessional bedside manner. He never fully examined me from head to toe and as I have ankylosing spondylitis, sero-negative RA,, etc. I was highly disappointed with my care. He also decided not to take some of my flare ups seriously. My greatest complaint occurred this fall when I asked to be switched to a female doctor within the practice. Lawson dismissed me as his patient; female dr refused to see me

After moving to SC, I became incapacitated. My doctor sent me up to Greenville to see Dr. Lawson. He tested and confirmed I had severe RA. He put me on medication and around a month later I was doing great. I've been pretty much free of flair ups since, which has been 8 or 9 years!
