Don’t waste your time-
I went to this dr for tingling in my arm. In the initial meeting she asks questions to get you to say things so she can run up tests. “Are you forgetful? Tired?” I am a 54 yr old woman in menopause of course the answer is yes and I said just that- nothing more than usual due to my age. Next thing I know I am set up with 10 tests with different young medical techs who can’t answer a question. The dr never saw me again. Not even to discuss my MRI results that my GP reviewed for me after the fact to tell me I had a herniated disk that caused the tingling. The dr has someone in the office call you constantly to check on you but not once were they able to answer questions or get the dr on the phone. It was only another way for them to bill you. I have great insurance and in the end they charged me almost $1k and I won’t hold my breath that that will be the final bill. RUN don’t walk from this doctor.

Orders in unnecessary exams just to bill your insurance and then won’t go over your results unless you get 10 more tests done! Her front desk is NASTY specifically Gloria. This place takes advantage of sick people. The doctor looked at me and said there’s nothing wrong with me before I could even tell her my symptoms. Her face is so filled with fillers too which makes it scary

I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. She just wanted to bump up her bill. Tests, tests, tests. I started feeling better and headaches went away but after all tests came back normal she suggested that I get a spinal tap just to 'make sure'. If you've ever had a spinal tap it's not something that you'd look forward to. I told her maybe we should both get one and walked out. Then after NEVER getting a bill until this past Monday (I was there early spring), I get a call on Tuesday from a collection agency. SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST and her office staff is rude and disrespectful. I could write a book about how not to treat patients after being in their office on several occasions

Waste of time and money!
I met with Dr. McMonigle in January for migraines. At my first appointment she suggested I do MRIs, various tests in her office and 21 different blood tests. After doing all of that she said my migraines were from neck pain and that I should get PT for my neck (I’ve never had neck pain & didn’t think that made sense). She also wanted me to do another MRI, more bloodwork and additional tests which I didn’t want to do. I thought my insurance would cover all of this but I got a bill from her office for tests ($900) then from quest for the lab work($2200)! I called the office to complain about the bills & cancel future appointments since all of this was a waste of time. Since then her office keeps sending bills to my insurance company for monthly appointments I never made or go to. I filed a complaint against her with my insurance company and hope this gets resolved. I’m so frustrated and wish I never went there!

Horrendous Experience
To put a face on this practice, you get to see the doctor at your intake. You never see her again. After that it’s a multitude of Physicians’ Assts and technicians who schedule you for every last test under the sun with no discussion before or after. I eventually got hold of all my records (they have to give them to you under the Freedom of Information Act), and took them to another neurologist to look at and decipher for me, because I knew nothing, was told nothing, and was not permitted to speak to the MIA doctor, EVER. Reading thru the records, the second doctor was appalled at the amount of useless testing done. Besides that, the office will call you every 2 weeks and ask you how you are so they can charge for “Telehealth.” Thankfully, all is well with me, but it was evident they were never going to tell me that. A neurologist is an important choice to make. Pick one where your health is their concern, not how much they can zing your insurance.

Terrible
I brought my daughter to this md, the worst office and experience. Orders unnecessary tests that cost upward of 10,000 dollars. Doesn't make sure they have the proper referral, then sends you a bill for 13,000 dollars. When I called to get some help the office manager basically was very uncaring and stated the bill would be going to collections. Don't go here. They a so disorganized and very unprofessional to say the least.

Awful Experience, huge waste of time .
Horrible actually. Only interested in over the top testing for absolutely no good reason on an 86 yr old with a 15 year history of dementia . A spinal tap for dementia, really ? Could offer no options for treatment. Nasty, condescending and downright rude when testing was questioned and ultimately refused. Don’t waste your time, you’ll only be frustrated by the lack of compassion. Funny thing was as I was leaving, some other patient was screaming their head off , also unhappy.

Always very satisfied!
I had to write this review as I cannot understand the discrepancies I have seen with her ratings and feel someone is out to get her. Dr. McMonigle is not only a compassionate, well-educated thorough doctor who has always helped me immensely with my medical condition, but she is just a nice, down-to-earth individual that I wish more people were like. I know it's not easy being a doctor these days, treating so many people not all who are the nicest, but Dr M does so with a soft, caring approach I wish more doctors today had. I will be her patient as long as she's around.

Impersonal and disorganized
I found the office impersonal and disorganized. After doing multiple tests, I went back for my follow-up. After waiting 2 hours, finally saw the doctor and was told they did not have all my test results. She told me I should have called first to check that my results were in even though it had been 2 weeks since I completed the test. I went back a second time and called first to verify that my results were in my chart. I was the only patient in the waiting room. After 20 minutes I asked how long until I would see the doctor with no response. I left after 45 minutes never having seen the doctor or getting an explanation as to why I had to wait so long. I will not go back.

Worst doctor I’ve ever been to
Had 5 appointments at her office which she only saw me once.. ordered the most unnecessary tests which was all for money. After I threatened to leave a bad review she said to leave and called security I wouldn’t go to her again if she was the last doctor on earth. Worst neurologist in the business and her entire practice should be shut down for being so unprofessional

No reasonable accommodation. No consultation.
Second visit today Doctor sent me a zoom link then transferred to phone visit after a hour wait for a virtual meeting. I am homebound, disabled and diagnosed with G03.9 Catastrophic Adhesive Arachnoiditis. I scheduled an appointment for treatment. She orders test that are not relevant to spinal canal inflammation. Ignores recent MRIs, blood work, ekg's, and past medical history and tries to have me perform test that find common causes of my symptoms at the cost of psychological and physical harm both temporary and permanent nerve damage. I ask the doctor how these tests would help with my condition and she refuse to explain stating that I have to come in despite not being able to travel safely. Refuse to discuss my condition with me. Refuse to discuss treatment options. Dismissive towards my pain and symptoms. She just would not listen. Uncompassionate and inhumane attitude, left me in despair. Delayed treatment with compassionate doctor who would treat me as a human being and listen.

I would not recommend dr mcmonigle. She orders a battery of tests and just keeps on insisting on more. I get that she is trying to be thorough but it’s quite a lot of time. I was not looking for pain meds. I just wanted her to do something besides send me for more tests…The office staff is extremely unprofessional. I ignored the reviews and regret it!!

Dr. McMonigle is an amazing physician. She diagnosed a severe spinal cord compression. She sent me for multiple tests, including an MRI of my entire spine. The cervical spine was read as negative. She asked for it to be reviewed by another radiologist. Low and behold, I ended up having emergency spinal surgery. If it weren’t for her, I might not be walking today. She is very empathetic, knowledgeable and will challenge other physicians if she has any doubt of a diagnosis. I now live in another state but travel back to NY just to see her. I will never use another neurologist.

Dr. McMonigle is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. The wait time is always at least 30 mins and she hardly spends anytime with patient. She is rude and doesn't take the time to listen to the patient nor explain the diagnosis. She runs tests and doesn't explain the reasoning behind them. Her staff is unprofessional and incompetent. They run tests, leave the room and then come back not sure what to do next. They never return your phone calls nor can answer your questions. She does not treat Lyme disease although she says she does on her website. She is just another Lyme denying physican that makes money by running her long list of tests to pad her wallet. Avoid her at all costs.

I feel she has good intentions, but only cares about the money all of her "necessary" testing can get her. She didn't pay much attention to me and cut me right off and diagnosed me without even letting me finish. Her staff was trying there best, but when you don't give somebody the right tools you don't succeed. When i told her i didnt want to get a certain test because a pripr experience she demanded that i did and booked an appointment even though i told her i would not keep it. Does not have a proper check in or check out station. Very messy rooms. Old equipment. Not happy.
