Irreparable eye damage during surgery
I had been a satisfied patient of Dr. Jung for many years until he performed a vitrectomy procedure on one of my eyes. He advised me that it was very safe, that he had done thousands with no serious complications. After weeks of bad vision post-op, I had Dr. Jung check again. He then informed me that I was now 40% blind in that surgery eye. He told me there is no cure, that it is almost certainly permanent. He never apologized and his office charged me in full for the bad surgery and for all the resulting extra visits to their office. Eventually I was able to see two neuro eye specialists to get their professional assessment about what had happened during this surgery and they said that the only way they know that this damage could occur is if the eye fluid pressure was allowed to fluctuate too much during the surgery.

I have had many visits with Dr. Jung over the last 2.5 years as I had developed a macular pucker in my R. eye with increased tension on the macula and retina until Dr. Jung surgically removed the membrane. He is a doctor who can explain all of your medical information in terms any lay person can understand and has an excellent "bedside manner," understanding how you might feel about these developments. He is an excellent, skillful retinal surgeon who can make you feel comfortable with the surgery and its effects and the results are much improved vision. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a doctor in this specialty.
