All of the office was fantastic. Dr. Wells explained things very clearly. It was not rushed at all. I would highly recommend him.

Disingenuous doctor
All about the money such as having to see a psychiatrist before he performs surgery on his patients. I found it very strange all these unnecessary tests not related to an orthopedic condition. Also, he drags things out to stahl . I was very disappointed with him.

Doesn’t respect patient wishes
He may be a good surgeon but I don’t like that he is a radiation maximalist. He had me get a pelvic CT scan for no good reason. He said it was probably too late for me to get surgery but had me get the scan anyway even though it was nothing life threatening. Then what a surprise he said it was too late. Couldn’t he just have said that looking at my X-rays, mri and symptoms? He also made me take new X-rays even though I had just taken X-rays. Then during my surgery used fluoroscopy. Women’s reproductive organs are very sensitive to radiation and I may be experiencing side effects from all this. I also made it clear that I was uncomfortable with unnecessary radiation but he did not respect my wishes and pressured me saying it was all very necessary. I wish I had not caved in as I am the one who has to live with the consequences, who cares if he thinks I am dumb or not. Fluoroscopy and ct scans probably the equivalent of 1000s of X-rays for no reason!

Awesome Doctor !
I had an appointment this morning with Dr. Wells and he is very thorough. He found a tumor on my X-ray and MRI that two other doctors had missed. His bed side manner is the best I've ever had. He is very patient and explains the problems very well. His staff are also very friendly and helpful, they were able to move my appointment up due to a cancelation, which I truly appreciated. I wish all doctors were like Dr. Wells. I highly recommend Dr. Wells.

Excellent doctor - superb patient care
Dr. Wells performed a total hip replacement and throughout the entire process, was thorough in explaining what to expect, what was expected of me, and was always open to questions and provided thorough answers. I believe my speedy recovery was due to his expertise, excellent level of care, and compassion.

Hip replacement
I was scheduled for hip replacement by another medical source. I was not confident of their diagnoses and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wells..His diagnoses was different and did not require hip replacement but treatment for exterior area of hip. I am appreciative and impressed with his honesty and expertise that spared me the discomfort of surgery. Thank You Dr. Wells.

Dr. Wells performed a hip replacement for me, January 2020. Dr. Wells explains everything in an understanding manner during every appointment pre surgery, after surgery visit in hospital and calls to home to check on the patient. He and his staff are the most caring, concerned 'team' I have ever encountered. He and his staff made themselves available to personally answer questions over weekend, evenings, post surgery. If my other hip needs to be replaced, I would not want anyone else but Dr. Wells to be my surgeon.

I've been continuously impressed with my hip specialists after what I've been through thus far with my other medical mysteries not related to my hips. Dr. Wells already read my images pre-appointment, and he was even early to my appointment. His opinion majorly factored into my decision to go through with bilateral PAOs and arthroscopy. I would have definitely trusted him as my surgeon as well, but due to time constraints and convenience, I chose to have my surgery in Houston. I had my LPAO and arthroscopy in June, and I am now 8 weeks post-op. My operated side is feeling so much better, and I've noticed some slight improvements with my pelvis. He also noticed some things that my other doctors had not mentioned as well. The session was well worth my time, he answered all of my questions, and I can tell he really cares about his patients.

Absolutely the best doctor I have ever had, from bedside manner to complex surgery. I can't say enough about him and the team of people he has working with him. The staff at his offices and at the UTSouthwestern Zales Lipshy hospital all hit it out of the park in every way.

After a fall with broken femur, two surgeries elsewhere with hip displacements afterward and physical therapies, I found Dr. Wells. He may have saved my life with a hip replacement that solved my complicated issues! After an entire year of surgeries, rehab stays and physical therapy, he knew the answer where others failed. thank heavens we asked for that SECOND OPINION! Thank you, Dr Joel Wells!
