Dr. Fernandez spent the time to evaluate a tricky diagnosis and then explained options in great detail. Follow up was also easy and immediate.

Dr Fernandez is a great hand surgeon, he’s kind understanding listens well and does whatever it takes to help your situation. I highly recommend him and wouldn’t go to anybody else.

Excellent timing in obtaining my appointment.Glad for the X-rays the doctor had ordered and for his interpretation of them. That gave me much better detail of what happened to my hand and wrist. The attending hospital that initially treated me was vague as to the damage I suffered.

We went over possibilities for new surgeries. Rather than caring about making money with a new surgery, Doc and staff looked at the situation with scar tissue and etc and explain r how it would not be helpfull but could harm getting a surgery . The staff after 17-18 year they remember my family, my career goals etc , when we go over the possibility or treatments ! They don’t push pain meds and really care about me not the insurance company, they care about me and my family. My life is good. When they came into my life it was really bad. Everything they have done has been to help me. I cannot rave about them enough! I went there after another surgeon did not do a great job. Dr Fernandez fix the damage and made my life, mine again. He didn’t string me out on pills, he did two surgeries then even had the strength to tell me I woukd not go back to my old career, but said I could go back to being a husband and a father really cared This is what a doctor should be like !!

I felt that Dr. Fernandez was very professional and knowledgeable. He was very open about what he felt the problem was and allowed my wife and I to be very involved in the diagnosis and treatment plan. The PA that came in first was very up to date and recognized every one of my symptoms and hit everything that Dr. Fernandez said when he came in. I'm very happy with my care at Midwest Orthopedic at Rush. I would recommend Dr. Fernandez and his staff to anyone.

Dr. Fernandez was my 3rd opinion for wrist pain. He ordered an additional test that other hand surgeons hadn’t. That test determined more thoroughly what was causing the pain. Because of this I trusted Dr. Fernandez to do my surgery. The outcome was excellent. His team is also exceptional. The quality of care is superb!

Dr. Fernandez is AMAZING! He took the time to explained my surgery & recovery period and what to expect. I was able to see my x-rays and understand why I was in so much pain. He went through the surgery procedure, showing me what he was going to do. His PA was also AMAZING. I have seen her a few times as well. She also took the time to make sure I understood what I can and can’t do after my surgery. I had surgery on both of my hands this year. If I had another hand I wouldn’t hesitate having Dr. Fernandez and his team take care of me again!

I have had 2 surgeries prior to the last one I had with Dr. Fernandez. This 3rd surgery was much different. First the first time I met him was no different than the last. He took his time, gave me options, Gave what his findings were and how he could help and the overall result was just what he said. If I had taken the time to research more drs earlier in this process and found dr Fernandez I may not have had to go through so much. He has become my favorite dr. Knowledge, caring, helpful. I previously went to a different orthopedic surgeon who performed surgery to repair a distal bicep tendon rupture. The surgery caused nerve damage which left my hand partially paralyzed.I went to Dr. Fernandez for a second opinion on my options and wish I had gone to him for my initial injury.He took the time to walk through all possible options and outcomes for my current injury. He worked with me to come up with a plan to recovery and I left feeling much more optimistic on my chances of recovery and having a better grasp on the road ahead.There are still many unknowns for my recovery but I now feel confident that I am with a doctor who will give me the best possible chances for a full recovery.

Dr Fernandez took time to listen to my concerns and provided a thorough explanation of my condition. I am very satisfied after the visit and should I need surgery in the future I will return to see him again.
