He spends time answering all of my questions thoroughly and doesn't rush thru appointments. I followed him from Providence to NW Urology. Very calm and personable and knowledgeable- I feel I can tell him anything

Excellent
Dr. John Gunselman saved my husband's life by operating on him when he was critical. He has been thoroughly involved since then, and we have received detailed explanations of what is to come. He has been personally helpful, kind, and available every step. His office is wonderful, especially Gabby.

Atrocious buisiness practice
My father saw Dr Gunselman and got a prescription for a urologic problem. On trying to get a refill, my father had to call eight times, my father’s PCP has called, Dr Gunselman’s office has twice said they they’ve filled the prescription, but the pharmacy hasn’t received it. The office berated my father for calling on a weekend for a prescription refill (after he called seven times during weekdays) then didn’t follow up after the weekend was over. The medication isn’t a controlled substance and my father is having a lot of difficulties due to the lack of medication. This is one of the WORST experiences I’ve had with a doctor’s office. My father will never return and I will certainly make sure that everyone I know that may need a urologist, is aware that this is a terrible business.

I am very disappointed to hear Providence is closing this urology clinic. I have met all 3 doctors and been significantly treated by Dr. Gunselman. Dr. Gunselman is very professional and a very good provider/surgeon.

I am 4 weeks out from a radical prostatectomy by Dr Gunselman. I give him and his team 10 out of 10 stars. I have had no incontinence issues ??. I had surgery done at Providence on Gilsan. Happy with the entire process. Great doctors (anesthesiologist was Dr. Bruce Bolton) and nursing staff. Thank you all for a great outcome.

Dr. Gunselman was kind and helpful. Sure, he was a little socially-awkward, but that just made it easier to be a patient in a specialty that's kind of awkward and embarrassing. He made sure I understood the diagnosis, reason for the tests, and what he was doing. He was relaxed, which helped me relax, too. I don't always understand doctors, so it was nice to have one actually take time to communicate clearly. If you are reading this review because you are anxious, he's one of the good ones.
