Waste of Time
It took 2 hours to be seen by Dr. Wild. Once I saw him I voiced my frustration (as I had other places to be) and he was unfazed. When we discussed why I was there, he told me I needed a knee replacement, but that he wasn’t going to do it. He stated I needed to see a younger doctor because I’d need revisions. I told him there’s no guarantee that a younger doctor would be around in 15 years to do my revision. He agreed but again restated he wasn’t going to do my surgery. He also stated I needed to lose weight (which is fine) but even if I did he wouldn’t do my surgery. He had my X-rays, height, weight, and age all available before the appointment. He could’ve easily made that decision before I met with him.

Don’t see him if you’re fat
If you want a doctor, that’s gonna fat shame you and tell you that it’s your fault for having the problems. This is the guy for you. He will make sure that you understand that you’re fat and obese and that he’s not willing to take the chance that you’re going to have complications because you’re fat he will only work with you if you are in relatively good shape or not Overweight. So as long as you’re skinny and fat, he’s a great doctor. If you’re fat and curvy, I would move on because all he’s gonna tell you to do is lose weight.

I saw Dr. John J. Wild III, aka Jesse Wild, about instability in my left knee joint which was replaced in 2011 by another surgeon. Dr. Wild performed a superficial exam, pronounced the appliance unlikely to be broken based on its age, stated that revision surgery had high rates of infection, and recommended that I go home and strengthen my quads to tighten up the knee. I subsequently consulted a surgeon Chicago who immediately and correctly diagnosed the issue as failure of the plastic insert in the appliance. I had revision surgery in January 2020 and have in my possession the broken part with the post completely sheared off. Dr. Wild's unwillingness or inability to perform a thorough examination and correctly diagnose a problem so obvious to me, to his PA, to the PA in Chicago, and to the surgeon in Chicago raises serious questions regarding his attitude towards patients and his diagnostic abilities. Space limitations in this review prevent me from sharing other issues I encountered.

Takes time with exam, thorough and explains what is wrong, what can be done, with options if they're are any. I've been treated by him for several years, needing knee and hip replacement since first visit, had injections to delay surgeries and finally decided to proceed with hip replacement. Success! Pain free! Couple of years later, knee replacement, released from hospital less than 24 hours later - success!! Still see for follow up on other knee that needs replacement. Thank you Dr. Jesse Wild
