I had a concern about a lump under my both shoulder blades

Didn't have to wait in waiting room or exam room. Gave me a shot in my shoulder for bursitis and took care of it

Did not leave feeling confident i knew what to do for my shoulder, what was going on with my shoulder, and felt like I was being rushed to leave.

Dr. Hudgens has been very nice to me. He has a very good personality. He and his hospital staff was fantastic! They were very friendly and took all my attention away from what they were doing to get me ready for surgery. I was really impressed. Since surgery at my post op appointments has been great also. He takes the time to listen and answer all my questions.

First time seeing Dr Hudgens. He was the best!! I found the whole experience very professional from the front door on. I would definitely recommend him and Emergeortho to others.

Dr. Hudgens takes time to explain things well. He knows what he is talking about and he makes sure you understand what is happening too. I have been seeing him for 8 months and he has always been aware of the balance between time to heal and time to be aggressive. He doesn't make me feel like I am bothering him when I ask questions.

Dr. Hudgens is so patient with his explanations and answering questions. He has such a calm demeanor, not an arrogant tone and I didn’t feel like I was being rushed. I feel so confident in his ability as I have surgery pending.

This was my 1st time being seen by Dr. Hudgens. I found him quite cordial and explained his assessment clearly. I felt he was definitely competent and made a plan for treatment promptly. He also took care in prescribing me steroid medication given my past experiences and prediabetic status. I was pleased with this visit.

I'm new to the area and a small rotator cuff tear that I'd had diagnosed some 6 years ago (when I lived in S. Francisco) seems not to like all the digging in heavy clay and lugging around of 50-lb bags of mulch, etc. that I've been doing. As I was 95% certain that I knew what this was, I didn't want to have to do the appt with the Phys Asst that Duke requires before I see a specialist. Was fearful that EmergOrtho might be super expensive -- but I checked and the $250 first visit fee with Dr. Hudgens is in line with what I'd expect. I checked his education and credentials which seemed excellent (Johns Hopkins, etc.)Facility at Southpoint, Durham is huge, modern, impressive. They do doctor's appts, out-patient surgeries and PT all at the same location which is a real plus for me.I felt Dr. Hudgens was thorough, thoughtful & did not even mention surgery (or MRI, though mine are 6 yrs old). He is not a 'give you a cortisone shot & schedule next appt' type. Very pleased!
