Dr. Judith Scott, DO

I have been seeing Dr. Scott for several years and each time I see her she acts like I am a brand new patient. I came with concerns for something to talk about options, but she essentially dismissed me and said there is nothing she can do. I went to a NP after who was wonderful and we found many options. Additionally, during a pelvic exam she asked me about my partner and "if he ever hits me." I find this extremely inappropriate especially while in a vulnerable position during a GU exam. She also tries to get out of the room as fast as possible, I never even get to ask the questions I need to before she's out the door.

Dr. Scott has a tendency to be very dismissive about issues I have voiced. She constantly tells me I’m “too young” to be having issues I am dealing with & tells me everything is probably mental health related. I see a counselor already, but these issues are much different. She also asked me if I have kids…on my first appointment back after a miscarriage. Keep in mind, I’ve been going to her for 5+ years. I’m switching doctors now. She has terrible bed side care. Condescending, rude, and dismissive.

I saw Judith Scott for birth control & received a Mirena IUD. I had horrible side effects (anxiety, suicidal ideation, hair loss) & returned to have it removed. She was condescending, dismissive, & refused to remove it. She rolled her eyes & asked, "Do you want to get pregnant? Because removing it is how you get pregnant." She never once offered an alternative method (like Paragard) & said it was a “pet peeve” of hers when patients can't deal with side effects. She wrote a prescription for thyroid medication "just in case" – which is something you have to take FOR LIFE. (She didn't explain that, either.) I didn't take it, & based on subsequent testing, I don't even have a thyroid problem! When I went to another doctor to have the Mirena removed, it turned out Scott cut the strings too short to easily remove it, so I had to endure extra invasive appointments to finally get the damn thing out of my body. Stay away from this woman; she’s the worst kind of doctor.

Both my husband and I were extremely happy with the care Dr. Scott and her staff provided through my pregnancy and the birth of our first born this past November. Dr. Scott is truthful and thoughtful in her explanations. We never waited long for our appointments nor did we feel rushed by her or any of her staff. It was evident to us that she truly cared about my health and the health of our baby. We are so grateful for her care and expertise.

Worst experience with this doctor

I was referred to Dr. Scott when my prior gynecologist retired. My first experience with her was the need for a total hysterectomy due to uterine cancer. I couldn't be happier with her, she is extremely personable and knowledgeable and was able to explain things in detail to my satisfaction. Her support staff is also very good, and they were always available for comments, clarifications and concerns. After my hysterectomy she made it a point to come see me even though it was her day off.

She listened to all my concerns and address them, which is the reason I had to switch doctors. She has great staff, and I never felt rushed or had difficulties making an appt. And I never had to wait long to be seen, always <10min.

She is always courteous. Answer questions. Very honest. Whatever I wanted to know she let me know regardless.
