Dr. Kanaka Chelliah, MD

PLEASE READ! I was assigned this doctor by my insurance. I made an appointment and was seen. I let the doctor know I had Vertigo and was on medication. She examined me and said the Vertigo was caused by my allergies, and prescribed an allergy medication. She also scheduled a yearly physical for the following week. I started the medications and was feeling extremely dizzy and lightheaded. I ended up falling and hitting my head. I called the doctors office and let them know I had fallen. They asked if I passed out or was feeling nauseated. I wasn’t and they said unless I started to feel nauseated or started throwing up, to go to the Emergency Room. I let the them know that I would need a refill on the medication because I was running low. She called back later that afternoon. I was unavailable and she left a voicemail, to stop taking one of the medications. It turns out those two drugs are contraindicated, which means I should have never taken them together. I had to keep my appointment for the following week because if you don’t cancel within a certain time, they charge you. I arrived for my appointment and let them know I didn’t feel comfortable and would no longer be coming back, because of what happened. The doctor then came in and I let her know that I didn’t feel comfortable seeing her. She asked to see my head and immediately ordered a Cat scan and referred me to a ENT, because she couldn’t do anything for the Vertigo. A few days later I had to go to the Emergency Room. It turns out, I had a concussion and now I’m suffering from post concussion syndrome. I went to see another doctor, who sent me to physical therapy. I have lost some function in my right eye among other things. I will now have to be in physical therapy for 6 weeks.

Ran my lab work and went to my appointment for results. Started by saying if I wanted her to recommend some one to treat me if I won't follow her instructions. She was upset with my A1c number - but she referred me to a cardiologist who instructed me not to take any insulin for 3 days before my procedure at Three Crosses. I didn't argue or complain, just never went back and found a new doctor. Also dropped off paperwork 3 weeks prior for MVD Diabetes health questionnaire and she never filled it out so I felt she was wanting me to find a new doctor.

She was so uncaring, not only with me but all our family. We found a different doctor that actually found the root of many health issues.

Had approx 4 visits

She is very professional and knowledgeable. A very caring doctor. She’s our family’s practitioner. We all love her!

She is very knowledgeable and kind. You’re not there for a friend, but a knowledgeable doctor.

I took my elderly mother to her and she asked why? Why didn't I take her to a doctor that specialized in the elderly?!? And, this was BEFORE she even asked what was wrong with my mother OR why were we there? She never smiled. Dr. Chelliah is rude, egotistical and uncaring. She did not even examine my mother!!! So, we left.
