Think they care about your well-being and health? Think again. I struggle with chronic migraines and am completely healthy otherwise. Called Wednesday to get my prescription refilled, no answer left a message, emailed and called Thursday, no answer. Got a call back Friday as I’m packing to leave town shaming me for not coming in for my annual (the only reason I would be to ask for my prescription). Got a second call Friday after I left town saying I can only get my prescription if I come in in person. I asked if I could do video visit- she said no. I asked if I could get one pill and book an appointment for next week, got a “sorry you’re out of luck”. Healthcare is hard enough to navigate as it is. If I get a migraine, I have stroke symptoms and need to go to ER. They’d rather me risk that than refill my prescription. See ya never Dr Nance - I hope you and your front desk ladies are better to your other patients.

Caring and Professional
Dr Nance is caring and professional. She's very attentive and takes the time to listen and focus on personal concerns, and addresses them with compassion and integrity. NP McClain is also as caring and professional, and I'm confident and comfortable meeting with both.

I started seeing Dr. Nance in 2015 and she was very good for my weight loss and weight management. She offered products and programs to assist in this. Her staff was always very friendly and helpful. If I had any other issues she would recommend me to a specialist and always took the time to talk with me during our visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Nance if you are needing weight loss or weight management. She can really get you on track with mindfulness processes. I learned a lot about myself and the program she follows.

I made an appointment for medical problems bothering me. The issues I spoke about were not addressed, and come to find out not even included in my medical notes. But instead I was pushed into random vaccines I did not need or want (this was even pre-covid). I know I did not need this useless vaccine, but it made me sick for a long time, and I am still sick from it. I am very angry and resent that this happened to me, so I do not believe in doctors anymore.

Dr. Nance did not listen to anything I was saying as far as my medical history and was extremely condescending. She did not wear a white coat, a name tag, but instead wore tight, form-fitting clothing which seemed very unprofessional. Neither her, nor the medical assistant ever said my name, confirmed my date of birth, or used hand sanitizer prior to touching me. The doctor informed me that if I exercised and meditated, I would be fine and gave me several apps to use for meditation..... I was billed incorrectly. They are denying me of my full medical records. They will not give me my results without an office visit because "doctors are getting paid for giving the advice, and the only way they can get paid and continue providing care to the patients is by seing patients in the office (or via telemedicine during the pandemic) and billing insurance. I hope you understatnd." [that is copied exactly from the office manager, including the spelling mistakes]. Horrible experience.

I saw Dr. Nance in 2018 and she destroyed my mental health by trying to convince me to do keto for my health condition. I couldn't trust any health care providers after the pushy sales techniques and the mind games. She told me I was "probably infetile" to try and get me to join her weightloss program. I'm now seeing a different doctor - one that specializes in my condition and she was extremely disappointed to hear that a Dr. Nance would day such a thing, because was wrong and she had no evidence to say I was infertile. Im also now learning that keto is not good for my health condition... I'm so disappointed that I chose to see Dr. Nance, I wish I never did. I would have saved a lot of time worrying and stressing.

I had an appointment with Dr. Nance for bloodwork only. She tried to to upsell me on procedures I didn't ask for the entire time. When I was unwilling to do so, she was pushy & condescending. She was acting like a salesman, and trying to put as many items on my insurance as possible. She also treated my husband like he was being controlling because he helped me answer some questions regarding my medical history. If the roles were reversed (wife answering questions for the husband) no one would bat an eye. She insisted on a physical, and when I said no she told me that not allowing her to do a physical before bloodwork would hold her liable. I'm still unclear on what exactly she would be liable for. She is a doctor & is already liable for what she does with patients. It was double speak & was a scare tactic. I don't appreciate doctors who try to use their position to manipulate & can't recommend Dr. Nance at all. Only go to her if you enjoy doctors trying to manipulate you.

Kara Nance & her office staff were very nice to me during the visit. The office is nice. I didn’t have to wait long. There is a convenient optional online patient portal where you can obtain test results & even ask the doctor questions, & she is nice enough to answer them herself. To get the most out of having Dr. Nance as a doctor, it is important first that you understand what kind of doctor office this is so you can use her services to your advantage. This is a doctor who specializes in (1) calorie counseling, when being overweight is due to calorie over-consumption only, but not from hormone problems or other medical problems, & (2) diabetes management or specialized insulin level problems. They do run standard CBC & Chemistry labs & pap smears. However, this is not a primary care doctor nor a gynecology doctor. If you ask non-calorie related primary care or gynecology/women’s health questions, they will not answer those questions & instead tell you to see another doctor instead.

I normally do not write reviews like this, but I thought it worthwhile for those interested in working with Dr. Nance and her team. I wanted to write this because I know it can be scary committing and taking the steps to get started, but I can tell you that I do not have one single regret in making the choice to get help. I have never felt judged or chastised by anyone at the office and have appreciated the entire staffs positive attitude and encouragement for me on my journey. I have been in the program for 10 weeks now and I am down 42 pounds. What I like about the team is that through the use of their products, scheduled check-ins, and meetings they create a full support system not only meant to help you lose weight, but help make the actual lifestyle change to sustain it. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am dieting with purpose and intention and it feels really good. The meal program is convenient and a weeks worth of food costs me less than what I used to spend on t

Dr. Nance has been my doctor for the past six years. Under her guidance she has helped me lose 15 lbs and improved my blood sugar. She's a very smart internist and I have total confidence in her care. Her appointments are on time and the office staff pleasant. I recommend her for anyone that wants to take charge of improving their health. She's no nonsense and will hold you accountable to do what's needed for a healthier life.

I suffer from a binge eating disorder. I wanted to see Dr Nance to get help losing weight. She was NOT compassionate to my situation, and instead humiliated me. Then she pushed me to buy HER "special" food, which would cost around $400 a week. I left feel so belittled, and very depressed, with even less self-worth than when I went in.

O first encountered Dr. Nanc e at a clinic in Arlington Heights. Was quite unhappy to learn she had left. I developed a good relationship with another female doc, who both O and my husband liked, but I still missed Dr. Nance. When 2nd female doc left, I knew just where my 'he's doc would be. My husband was very i impressed with her. She is very competent, never acts like you're a sore throat instead of a person, never makes you feel rushed. Also gentle, great smile. Office staff efficient

I found Dr. Nance to be understanding of my difficulty in losing weight but yet encouraging, knowledgeable and very quick to engage in a fact filled, firm discussions on what I need to reach my weight-loss goals. I have highly recommended her practice to friends who are having problems managing their weight. My regular doctor was extremely pleased in the results of weight loss and general health improvement. I am extremely happy that I found Dr. Nance. She has helped me to get healthy taking a natural course of diet and exercise as well as Mindfulness. She has always been positive in helping me achieve my goals and I trust her totally with my healthcare. I did not have a physician for 15 years because I didn't trust the ones from my past but now I have a Great Physician and feel at ease under her guidance.

My experiences with Dr. Nance have been above and beyond all expectations. She is not a typical, follow a protocol, type Dr. I describe her as a Dr. who tries to make a body healthy before she prescribes a bunch of meds. Her approach is refreshing. She has tailored her approach to my weight loss and health issues based on what motivates me and my personality type.
