Dr. Kashyap Shatagopam, MD

Dr Kash got me through my prostate cancer and arranged for my radiation treatments. Continues to monitor my continued recovery. He listens, explains, and answers all questions!!!

Treatment for this disease is straight forward but can be expensive without insurance. Office personnel did not know how to schedule this procedure and had to ask another doctors office for guidance. I filled out multiple forms and was assured it was taken care of only to receive a call on day of procedure cancelling the appointment due to lack of pre authorization. I contacted my insurance and was informed the provider failed to provide a diagnosis and previous treatment information. Pretty basic stuff one would think for a doctors office. I conclude Dr Shatagopam has very little experience treating this condition and the office staff is incompetent. One week later and I have had no follow-up from this provider. Find someone with experience.

I saw Dr. Shatagop for an in-office procedure. He was quick and explained everything to me throughout. I really appreciated that. I will continue to see him for my needs.

I made the decision to move my patient care within UA up to Georgetown as this office is much closer to me. I was very impressed with how well prepared Dr. Shatagopam was for my appointment. He had over a decades of historical data from my records to review prior to this initial visit and he obviously took time to review them and get up to speed prior to my appointment. He definitely cares about his patients!

Dr. Shatagopam was on time for the appointment which was a nice surprise! He had reviewed my chart, was up to speed on my condition which allowed me to update him on my current status without having to repeat my past history wasting time! Over the last year and a half, I’ve watched my psa rise. Dr Shatagopam didn’t share my sense of urgency, even with a family history of prostate cancer. After an inconclusive MRI, and a shot in the dark biopsy 15 months ago, he slow walked me until an MRI 3 months ago found a spot and a biopsy revealed cancer. Now I’m expected to drive 40 miles one way, 5 days a week for 9 weeks to receive treatments. No thanks. I’m transferring my medical care to Scott & White.
