Dr. Katherine Hansen, DO

Dr. Hansen was my Breast Cancer Surgeon in 2018. This was my first EVER Surgery at 68! No Family history. I was terrified. She spent SO much time explaining everything. Dr. Hansen is professional, genuine, patient, kind and caring. You quickly realize she loves what she does and her patients ...are real to her. I give Dr. Hansen a SIX star rating! It's not just the Surgery but also the "5 year remission journey".

I always have a million detailed, deep-diving questions. And I brought my friend (from another state) with me on the phone for a couple important appts. All that was just fine with Dr. Hansen -- she fielded my and his questions patiently and thoroughly. Due to the nature of his questions, she finally guessed that he is an oncologist, and she was still fine with that. Throughout all of our appts. and my continuing questions, and all the steps around breast cancer, surgery, and follow-up care, she could not have been more supportive, kind, forthcoming, professional, and helpful. She felt like a friend as well as my doctor. Oh also, every doctor who either recommended that I go to her, or who found out that I was going to her, told me UNASKED, "If my (wife / mother / sister) were in your shoes, SHE'S the one they would be seeing!" Dr. Hansen is a SuperDoc, and I feel so very lucky that she is my doctor!

I met Dr. Hansen at probably one of the worst moments of my life. She is THE best Doctor I have ever met. Throughout my care, she was very kind, warm and has a great bedside manner. She explained everything to me clearly and concisely. I felt she genuinely cared for me. As a matter of fact, everyone I met at NCH was that way! Surgery was very successful ! If you are looking for competence coupled with caring, consideration and warmth, this is THE BEST DOCTOR EVER! She has my highest recommendation for anyone seeking a competent, caring professional. Was referred to Dr Hansen as I had a lump in my breast. I was extremely nervous but calmed down soon enough when talking to her. Prior to my appointment she took the time to study my case and educated me on my condition. She was confident and clearly outlined next steps. She arranged for surgery and tests in a week. She was my surgeon and did a great job. Was again confident and calming. Have had regular follow ups. She takes the time to listen and explain and offers valuable suggestions. Best experience I have ever had. I had conerns about recent testing that came back confusing and I had an upcoming elective surgery.I came to see Dr. Katherine Hansen for a second opinion. Once Dr. Hansen entered the room she came in prepared. She listened to my concerns, examined me and explained everything about the results of my recent test. With an upcoming surgery that was scheduled a few days away she recommended I get another different test just to make sure I'm cleared to proceed. She told me that if I wasn't able to get the test scheduled in time to contact her right away. Lucky I got in the following morning. The following day when the test was completed her office called me a few hours later with the results! She created a plan on how we will continue to monitor my breast health exams. Not good,didn't listen to patients concerns, was told of symptoms. Discounted the patient,didn't do enough.patient.was right n saved her own life. Standard is not standard when you don't listen. Outcome definitely could have been different if patient,had listened n did nothing. Breast cancer!.No I would not recommend.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40, after having my very first mammogram. Dr Hansen walked me through every step of the way leading up to my surgery. She is very compassionate and Is knowledgeable in her field. I would highly recommend her. And I’m happy to say that 4 years later, I am still cancer free!!

Dr. Hansen has been wonderful. She explains things very well and always has time to answer questions. I am glad that she was my surgeon.

Not professional and very non chalant. Avoid her as my cancer was treated as a benign condition for almost a year.

She ignored my concerns and misdiagnosed me.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Hansen. She is just the best. She makes you feel comfortable and is very knowledgeable. Her bed side manner is impeccable. I feel so fortunate to be her patient.

After my wife & I researched the cancer treatment center, with the best results Nationwide, ... we all wanted our mother to be treated by MD Anderson. My sister & I also felt that since the drive from our moms to Vorhees/Camden was a three hour round trip that we would alternate driving. We all met, and felt that Dr. Hansen, far exceeded already high expectations. So much so, that we also feel that though cancer is very difficult, you were ourour favorite among an excellent staff. Thank you!

She is the best. She prepares well; listens to your questions and concerns even when they are just to vent. She has a very postiive and pleasant attitude that you will feel better after every visit no matter what discussions you had to have about your condition. She takes each patient seriously and as the only one patient before her and makes you feel like your "expert sister" is treating you:)
