Experienced and competent colorectal surgeon
I contacted Dr. Kazanjian for a second opinion. His careful and methodical approach convinced me that he was the right surgeon for me. He explained the technical reasons for the procedure very well, and I was well informed before and after the surgery. He spends time with his patients and doesn't rush through consultations. His chief resident and other residents are also very competent and pleasant. His nurse Sarah always responded very quickly to my voicemails and emails, and answered all my questions about the prep very patiently. His assistant Britney was also very responsive to my questions and with appointments.

Absolutely amazing doctor and team
I found Dr. Kazanjian by a miracle and I'm so thankful for him and his team at UCLA medical. I was in a lot of pain and discomfort at our first meeting and Dr. Kazanjian was very patient and attentive. A few months later he performed a sigmoid colectomy. Thank you Dr. Kazanjian for giving me my normal life back. I will be eternally grateful to you and your team. You are a true healer of the highest order.

Stoma Journey
Dr. Karajian - reviewed my case and agreed to perform a life saving LAR surgery during covid considering the lengthy time it took due to some unforeseen medical “ add on’s “ he did a fastidious job along with his resident. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having any difficulties with their colon. Dr K is very knowledgeable understanding but most of all the best in this field. So grateful for the artist that he is with the surgical instruments along with Mr Di Vinci. Happy 1 year anniversary thanks to Dr K.

Dr. K and his team are great!!
I recently had to have colon surgery and was recommended to Dr. Kazanjian. I would definitely recommend him and his team! I am very grateful for the care and attention Dr. K and his entire team gave me during my procedure as well as before and after. The doctor was very accessible and took the time to answer all my questions. My surgery went exactly as he had described and I was only in the hospital for 2 days. I'm currently recovering at home and getting better and better each day. I'm looking forward to getting back to my normal life ASAP and for that I have Dr. Kazanjian and his team to thank!

Rude and Disappointing
So disappointing given the good reviews. Purpose of visit: Review of diagnostic X-Rays and Scans of colon and resulting surgical option diagnosis. Dr Kazanjian starts our visit with, "I'm not sure why you are here". Now mind you, he had not reviewed my x-rays or scans. So, I told him he should have those test results. He then pulled them up, looked briefly at them and without examining me at all, just said, "you don't have cancer", and I said, "That's right". He then said he couldn't help me. That's it. He did not hear my concerns or address any options given the nature of my condition, which was verified by the diagnostic tests. Just baffled by the arrogance and non-engagement of this doctor. Whole visit lasted less than 5 minutes. I guess if you have cancer, he's a good doctor, but there are many other reasons for colon surgery and he simply could not take the time to investigate. He just acted bothered and distracted.

Dr Kazanjian and his colorectal surgery team performed a bowel resection surgery on me, following a thorough investigation by Dr Stephen Kim and others at UCLA Health of a large mass detected in 2 PET/CT scans over a 6-month period. I was a stage VI metastatic lung cancer patient for a year preceding these scans, but had progressed to 100% cancer remission when the growth was detected. The UCLA colorectal surgery team under Dr Kazanjian’s direction was thorough and efficient in the resection, and had me recovering at home in only 2 days. And the post-op biopsy showed the growth to be benign. I have had several surgeries over the past 2 years in fighting cancer, none of them as organized and effective as this UCLA resection surgery. I highly recommend the colorectal team.

Dr. Kazanjian is the Michael Jordan of colorectal surgery-- no kidding. Earlier this year, I was stunned to learn that I had colorectal cancer. Dr. K was highly recommended by a family friend and did not disappoint. Every meeting was very personal and he showed such a human and compassionate side which we appreciated so much. If you or a loved one is in need of colorectal surgery or at least a second opinion, do yourself a solid and see Dr. K.

The single best decision we made upon discovering my 84-year old grandmother had colon cancer was place her in the very capable and compassionate care of Dr. Kevork Kazanjian and his incredible team, who saved her life. Simply put, they are the gold standard for what quality patient care is all about. Dr. Kazanjian came highly recommended for his expertise by other medical professional. All the wonderful patient reviews of him online are 100% true. He and his staff truly care about the entire patient experience, which is evident even prior to the first appointment. I describe his nurse coordinator, Sarah, as an "angel on Earth." Dr. Kazanjian and his team are extremely empathetic to patients and their families, very responsive and accessible, taking their time to patiently answer all questions and address any concerns. Dr. Kazanjian and team have restored my faith in our healthcare system; my family and I are forever grateful!

From the moment I met Dr. Kazanjian, I knew he would save my life. I needed emergency surgery for colon cancer. He and his staff are the epitome of professional, knowledgeable and kind. He made sure I felt comfortable with every step of my journey and almost 2 years later, he and his staff (Sarah Reardon deserves a lot of credit for being so accessible when a patient has concerns.) continue to support me. He saved my life and I am thriving and have ZERO after effects from such a major surgery. I was back to work 7 weeks after a sigmoid colectomy. I have referred many people to his office. You are a lucky patient if you are able to be treated by Dr. Kazanjian.

Has god like attitude, did not discuss less invasive surgery. Surgery his way or no way. Refused to discuss alternatives forms surgery. His profile states into less invasive surgery, apparently even though young doctor appears not skilled/ knowledgeable in arthroscopy, surprising since young doctor-would think he would be skilled in less invasive surgery. Would not respond to most questions/emails, his responses to some were vague. Had arthroscopy surgery with another doctor. Bedside terrible!
