My mother is 96. She came in for a body check. She had recently been in to see her PCD. He told her she should speak to a dermatologist about two sores near her face. The doctor looked and then walked out of the room without doing the body check. My mother is the kindness nicest woman ever. My mother was so upset. She felt the doctor wasn’t really interested in her because of her age. We confirmed with the office that the appt was booked as a body check. This doctor should not be seeing senior patients. It’s not easy for my mother to undress and get on to a table. Elderly people can get very flustered when a doctor walks out of a room and doesn’t come back. The appt was July 2024.

Rude, judge mental and shaming
Went in for rash that could not get rid of with OTC products, Dr. Ruhl straight away diagnosed it as contact dermatitis. As she was done with her examination for the rash which took all of 5 min, She then noticed that I had scarring on my arm and commented, oh you are a picker! Her bedside manner was rude and as a doctor you would think she would ask me about my arm in a more compassionate manner to find out if I had any secondary issues. I was embarrassed and as many who deal with different skin issues, this came off judge mental and shaming. As she walked she didnt bother to ask me anything about it. What doctor observes a potential issue and literally ignores asking a patient. I knew right then I need to see a different doctor. She handed me the prescription, saying nothing about how long to use, if this will also relieve the itch, do I discontinue other products or if there was anything else to use in conjunction that will help until it heals. Find a better Dr.!

Misdiagnosed skin cancer
Saw Dr. Ruhl June 2022. I pointed out a bump on my face & she told me it was a broken blood vessel - not to worry about it. The next year I went back in June 2023 for my skin check. I again pointed out the thing on my face & this time she told me that it was just a skin tag. I asked for her to remove it and was told that I would end up with a scar from removing it that would be worse than the skin tag. She told me that if it continued to grow, I should come back and she would take it off then. This year I went to a different dermatologist. I had lost faith in Dr. Ruhl..... telling me one year that it was a broken blood vessel, the next that the same growth was a skin tag, and not removing it when requested. The new dermatologist took one look at it and knew it was a basal cell. It had been growing on my face for 2 extra years for no reason. Now it was no longer surface & I needed MOHS surgery and reconstruction. I would never go back to her & suggest others avoid her too.

I will not recommend her.
My experience with Dr. Ruhl was different than expected. When I mentioned that I had a few more concerns she stated that we only had an hour. I find that response to be rude, unacceptable and disappointing. We spend about 8 minutes together. I am sorry I came here today. Just because someone is bright, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be compassionate and present to the patient sitting before them. I will be finding a different doctor. Both my health and the way I am treated are equally important to me. To be seen and heard as a human being is essential. Unfortunately, that did not happen for me today.

Incompetent doctor. She wasn't able to diagnose my condition and therefore, I had to spent more time to find another doctor; meanwhile, my skin got worse. She doesn't care about her patients. The visit was no longer than 2 minutes. She told me to search online if I want more information about my skin condition. The receptionist was talking about private problems and completely ignored that I was waiting to be attended. Definitely, not recommended. I give one star because less is not possible.
